How many people could effort buying car for 30.000$ every year?

Volvo sold 424 772 cars in total 2016 and it has several models and still makes profit. Koc does not have the balls to take this risk because he is used to get the non risk business. Remember the Bird (Kus) series :-)

If you launched new automobile brand, it would mean you establish factory , dealers chain etc.
You would have marginal spends if you sold zero cars.
In order to meet to point of productivity , you have to produce more than 2 millions cars:)
Or you would increase your prices which couldn't be competitive:)

I think he exaggerated. The most sold car every year, VW Golf, is sold 1.000.000 worldwide.

All other cars are sold even less than that..

Really I don't have any clue about auto-industry, I have just imparted his words.

But that doesnt make any sense.. It should be per car model as they have wholely different and separate production lines and economic..!

When I did MBA , We had a production management:)
Teacher told how car producers fucked their brains around to meet productivity.They have incredible production management systems and strategies which are being global problems.

Apparently he has conflict of interests and thushe has gotten those numbers out of his old @ss.

I don't expect any government aid except forcing parliament to pass laws to make file works easier. They could maximum give 2-3 years of "no-tax" duration and that's it. They don't need any economic aid neither, all together those 5 companies are strong enough (didn't even mentioned that Qatar Army owns half of BMC, and if Qatar gets into project, there will not be any funding problem :P )

There is no problem to produce car and even constructing serial production line for it. The main problem is making one global brand. Creating new brands aren't easy. Vestel got some experiences with Venus phones, lets see how they will figure this creating brand job out.

Why does Turkey need a national or domestic vehicle?

Turkey could use existing, established brands and become a manufacturing hub. Just like as it is right now, Turkey has been exporting vehicles to Europe and other countries. Its exports have increased in the last 10 years.

The objective is revenue or national pride? For a brand, it takes a very long time to establish name and credibility. That part is more expensive than initial investments and planning.

Dont worry Turkey and Pakistan signed a free trade agreement, so there will be zero import duties cast upon this car! :)

The Welt article is stupid and has a grave mistake. They say there are no companies with experience in automotive in the consortium.

If you ask me why they have different opinions, well they are free to write what they want. Also Welt belongs to Axel Springer so I would not expect them to write anything positive about the country.

What Spiegel says is interesting and reminds me of Turkish smartphones, where all the components are sourced from other companies and in the end you have a design and a brand and call it domestic. But that would be disappointing.

No ! Free Trade agreement yields
mutual trade between countries without any limitations.
For example , after the agreement Turkey or Pakistan can't say don't export us plastic windows or refrigerators.
There won't be any limitations.
Customs still work.
When countries trade without any custom fees it is called Customs Union like in the EU.
