5 billion ton gold, copper depsoits at Rekodig ,3/27/2013 2:25:39 AM
There is a gold and copper reserves of 5 billion ton worth $ 1 trillion at Rekodig, DG Geological Survey Dr Imran informed the meeting of Senate Standing Committee for petroleum & Natural Resources.
Dr Imran also informed the Committee that many areas of the country including certain areas in Islamabad and Karachi and Bhasha Dam lie within the quake zone.
He also disclosed that 83 per cent of the babies born in certain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtwankhwa provinces are born blind and handicapped due to the usage of polluted water for drinking. The ministry of health has been informed about this many times but no notice has been taken, he added.
During the meeting member of the Committee Abdul Nabi Bangash protested against not supplying gas to Hangu from Til Block. The Bangash tribe is being forced to become Bugti, he said adding that if gas is not supplied to Hangu people would be forced to take up the arms.
