5 American soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

@FaujHistorian:

Thank you for replying with so much care.Sir,what will be the benefit of keeping Taliban away from just Kabul? If an administrative officer can not go outside of his barrack in Kandahar what will be the fate of ordinary Afghanis after all these mess?

PS:As you have mentioned here as well as in other thread too,is it logical to think it possible to make the Mujahidin's on the run just by air power?Sir,if air power had had been the solution this thread would not have been made at all.

You my dear are making a classic mistake when observing Afghanistan.

Many here do not know Afghanistan, so they assume that somehow Afghanistani can start living like any other civilized and urbanized society.

This is far far far far far far away from the reality.

Afghanistanis are taking baby steps out of primitive tribalism.

That means the cities in tribal heartland will be small islands (sort of under siege).

You also have to see how many "provinces" of Afghanistan are in really trouble vs. those who even now are living normal (from Afghanistan standards) lives.

Sometimes anarchists in Afghnistan take too much of news space, and good people like yourself condemn the whole country as a waste.

we must protect the tiny islands like Kandhar, as sort of one flower plant in a desert. This is the only way to spread flowers throughout the desert.

Hope you understand this now.

peace
