Ina lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oun, better planning is required too many casualties at the hands of these terrorists is pretty high. Pakistan army needs to go after these dens right over the border where they are breeding and then sneak in to KPK to cause havoc.

Four soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan, the military's media affairs wing said on Sunday.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said: "Four terrorists were killed during an IBO in Vezhda Sar, eight kilometres southwest of Boya, Miranshah, North Waziristan district.

"Sanitisation force conducted [an] operation against terrorists' hideout in Vezhda Sar this morning. As soon as the troops cordoned off the area, terrorists opened fire. All dug out terrorists were shot down by security forces," the statement added.

Four soldiers were killed in the exchange of fire, the ISPR said. The martyred soldiers were identified as Sepoy Muhammad Ismail Khan, Sepoy Muhammad Shahbaz Yasin, Sepoy Raja Waheed Ahmed and Sepoy Muhammad Rizwan Khan.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the martyred sepoys, calling them "heroes".

"No sacrifice is greater than the supreme sacrifice of life for the motherland. Valiant soldiers of our armed forces who laid down their lives in operation in North Waziristan are our heroes," he said in a tweet.

"The nation will remain grateful to them for their sacrifices."

In May, seven soldiers were martyred in two separate terror attacks in Balochistan.

According to the ISPR statement, terrorists targeted a vehicle of the Frontier Corps (FC) in Mach using improvised explosive devices (IEDs), claiming the lives of six Pakistan Army soldiers.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Naib Subedar Ihsan Ullah Khan, Naik Zubair Khan, Naik Ijaz Ahmed, Naik Maula Bux, Naik Noor Muhammad and Abdul Jabbar.

In a separate incident at Kech, another soldier, Sipahi Imdad Ali was martyred in an exchange of fire with militants.

Salutes to Pak martyrs. They want to bring peace into that area but known Elements are preventing it from happening.

May the force be with Pak soldiers.

With current budget we can't afford them especially their fuel.
Foot patrolling is the most common but dangerous activity in military. Has nothing to do provide vehicles. Also depend on terrain, sometime pre-operation land survey etc etc or after operation secured region survey ...
Every military use foot patrolling after encounter or clearing the region.

These are R&AW paid stooges even Taliban hunt them but problem is Afghan border....We must make it 100% fenced and make sure only legal person can come from their but to do that we must bear foal cries of Afghan scums for some time....When we close border they start cry and idiots sitting in Govt announces to open border.

We need to fence Afghan and Iran border....with military posts monitored by drones...
We must create buffer zone between our border and Afghanistan.

We must increase budget for the forces which are doing operation in troubled areas with armored vehicles.

All of the above can't be done if the Political Govt does not have will to handle Afghan cries and increase budget.

Donkey King worship is a cult.

Well all those NCTC, and other CT courses are coming out as joke. When you have to lose your soldiers to kill couple of terrorists.

Old timers really need to step down they can't do shit, conventional warfare is still on their mind. Better come up with new Military leadership with new ideas, better regime and training doctrine.

All the money spent on leisure clubs for Officers needs to be spent on nice gear and training...

No one on forum is on the front against these terrorist BUT everyone likes to serve up pathetic comments.

Protect the valueable souls. Soldiers of PA are brave and daring they don't even imagine saying no to the most deadly operation. But this doesn't mean we must keep on risking their lives.

All are good idea, but due to economic condition we have limited budget. PA has to make best use of provided funds. But foot patrolling ambush happened alot, those who are attacking our forces are local Pakistani who been either misguided by foreign propaganda or greed of money and power.

I bet you they are Afghans having bribed NICs.....

After years of seeing our brothers martyred in this cursed war on terror, I just don't have the heart to hear of anymore losses. This is a result not of unavoidable circumstances but of complacency. Can you imagine a US or Israeli Army unit taking such casualties in an IBO?
