38 Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan

So your outlook is optimistic.

Are you saying that we should not conflate the ISAF's inability to route the taliban with any failure on the Afghan government's part? Reasonable to a certain extent actually.

AND how do you think the ANSF will operate along with the ANA? What's the strategy to prevent the taliban from spreading terror through repeated attacks in an attempt to erode the writ of the state?

ISAF did their part but as a foreign entity they could never bring peace or succeed in Afghanistan! that's the nature here...

ANA includes ANSF - ANA (Afghan National Army)
and ANSF (Afghanistan National Security Forces) includes:
ANA + other special and elite units
ANP (Afghan National Police) + other special and elite units
ABP (Afghan Border Police)
NDS (National Directorate of Security)
AAF (Afghan Air Force)

The strategy should be not only militarily but political as well because the nature of war in Afghanistan doesn't look it will end in any military victory the war will prolong as long as foreigners stay in Afghanistan having a complete rejection of their stay by any group within or outside Afghanistan - so that's why US is trying it's best to bring Taliban into negotiation table not only for peace in Afghanistan but also to reach a reliable agreement with all groups in Afghanistan for it's stay beyond 2014!

It was a proud day for the Afghan Nation whose Security Forces took the lead on all security operations within the country on June 18th. Now we are, and will further, be given opportunities to steadily witness their efforts and determination in protecting their countrymen from militants. As they step up, the role of our forces in the ISAF will change from combat to support, as they themselves will plan and execute all combat operations. Their path is full of obstacles and challenges and much will be learned from firsthand experiences. However, we and the international community will be there to offer advice, train, and support them in this journey. We applaud their successful operations and are looking forward to witness greater accomplishments by them.

Well, you can say that, but so far, there is literally no evidence that these operations have been carried out. Unless CentCom can personally vouch?

All we're getting is reports from ANA PR agencies and government officials, but we have not seen a single body as of yet. There is also the chance that the ANA may be overexaggerating their claims, think about it, if they've been this successful so far (more so than foreign troops, by their claim), then why do they even need foreign help?

Nothing adds up.

To top this all off, no major international news agency (BBC, AJE, Reuters, AFP...etc) has covered these events, except for Indian and local Afghan (or pro-Afghan) news sources.

They tend to exaggerate things forexample Afghan media was exaggerating that their police have killed 10 pakistani soldiers during border clash over check post...

The number has risen it was the deadliest day for the Taliban more than 80 Taliban are killed in only 3 provinces today in heavy fighting which lasted for hours!! bravo ANSF! specially the brave Afghan national police who takes almost 80% of the burden!

good job american army and nato you mean.

Our young men contineously die in enmities and wars......The reason that you dont see protests in FATA and KPK on blasts and killing is that we are used to it since centuries of bloodshedd , wars and tribal fueds.
Afghan pashtuns suffered the most due to 3 decade long war...just in russian invasion one fifth of their population got killed by systemic genocide by russians and 90% of them were pashtuns....in the American invasion and in their 12 year long war, only pashtun belt of Afghanistan got suffered....perinatal and infant mortality rates are very high among Afghans......
Despite of all the devestations and wars, Afghans have shown their historical resilience....no nation in the modern world has this much stamina...

the only people you need to blame is the nothern alliance aka current afghan army for kill pathans

No mr.america, we dont call ourselves pathan, it is a foriegn word.

ill just have to get it on video for you.

why dont you ask other real pakistanis who know pathans in pakistan.
pathans do call them selves pathans in punjab anyways.

To be fair, where I live in Pakistan, there is a large Pashtun community and they refer to themselves as Pathan.

You mean pathans like babur ghauri, sahir lodhi, AQ khan and asad durrani?

We never say "za pathan yama", we say "za pashtun yama" (i am pashtun).
