Border Guard Battalion (BGB) have detained some 32 Bangladeshis from a field while they were trying to intrude into India through the Benapole frontier in Jessore on Wednesday evening.
Of the detainees, nine are women, six are children and 17 are men.
BGB 23 Putkhali Camp In-Charge Farid Uddin said: “Acting on a tip off, BGB members detained the Bangladeshi nationals from Balur Math around 4pm.”
“All of them are from Narail and Faridpur districts. They were later handed over to Benapole port police,” he said.
A case was filed with the police station in connection to the incident.
