Like I said, those remittances end up in private commercial banks of your family members which do not create any policies pertaining to economy. Now whether you trust your family members and whether you think they are corrupt is something you have to decide. There was a time when one would here horrific stories of Rohingya dying on their way to Malaysia. I know, I visited Pakistan last year. Neither do i live there, however I saw life was ok whereas in the west it is difficult full of stress and anxieties. These people are risking their life, it's the second such tragedy. Not so long ago a group of people from amoungst the hazara community from Quetta attempted the same and drowned off the Mediterranean coast. One was a lady, Pakistan's national karate champion.
