His recent Jalsa/Dharna in Karachi was a success. The biggest challenge for him was to turn Lahore on his side, since he has done it today - another Jalsa in Karachi, and you got the whole of Pakistan on your side.

Well, in order to determine what exactly Imran Khan's appeal is in Karachi, we need the MQM and ANP to stop their thugs and allow a free and fair expression by the people of their support for Imran Khan.

in that case few seats will be won by jamaat in place of ANP

no it was an utter failure, few people from punjab maybe mianwaali came in his jalsa, even imran was not present in jalsa most of the time

in karachi imran is more regarded as a cricketer than a fine politician

And at the same time Altaf Hussain is also not regarded as politician in Karachi and same is the case with ANP.

Unfortunately Karachi is hostage to the monopoly of MQM, PPP and ANP.

He has to start somewhere.

His main appeal is in the urban areas currently.

I agree that he should go to Peshawar, Quetta, Karachi and various other urban areas as well, but Lahore is a good place to start.

Quetta, Karachi, interior Sindh etc. have a much stronger 'ethnic card based politics', which will be harder to break into without some sort of momentum, not to mention what I said previously, the ANP+PPP+MQM would rather see Karachi burn than allow IK a successful rally and eat into their support base, especially the MQM.

Now that the MQM has kissed and made up with the PPP again, the PPP might look the other way over MQM violence to prevent the PTI from becoming successful. I don't know if IK can win over some support from ANP leaders in Karachi, which might help.

Baluchistan and Pakhtunkhuwa are more easy for the start, as Pakhtunkhuwa are the only who actually swap ANP out of the government just because they saw some change from MMA (which unfortunately never came), same case Baluchistan, where no one is in power.

anyways, i guess now nothing can happen.

Your location shows you're in Karachi, how do you know who attended the Jalsa and where the majority was from?

Don't worry guyz after he has started the momentum in Punjab next target would be KP insALLAH. Kicking that ANP out of their for good.

It was a Huge gathering, he made very nice suggestions, plus Shehzad Roy and Strings were invited too, who sung several songs, kept the crowd entertained. Plus he targeted Zardari and Mian Brothers in a very blunt manner which i liked!
