Pakistani terrorists attacked an Army base in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri on Sunday.

NEW DELHI:
HIGHLIGHTS
  1. Foreign Secretary summons Pak High Commissioner to Foreign Ministry
  2. Envoy reminded of stance against terror, given proof of Pak hand in Uri
  3. Pak terrorists attacked army base in Uri on Sunday, killing 18 soldiers
India today summoned Pakistan's High Commissioner Abdul Basit and presented to him, evidence of Pakistan's role in the Uri terror attack as well as other strikes like Pathankot.

Foreign Secretary Jaishankar called in Mr Basit, and according to the Ministry of External Affairs, "reminded him that the Government of Pakistan had made a solemn commitment in January 2004 to not allow its soil or territory under its control to be used for terrorism against India. The persistent and growing violation of this undertaking is a matter of very serious concern."

Pakistan envoy Abdul Basit outside the Cabinet secretariat in Delhi's South Block.

In a statement, the foreign ministry has said, "This year, beginning with the Pathankot airbase attack, there have been continuous attempts by armed terrorists to cross the LoC and International Boundary in order to carry out attacks in India. Seventeen such attempts have been interdicted at or around the LoC".

The MEA said, "In the recent incidents, we have recovered a number of items that include GPS from the bodies of terrorists with coordinates that indicate the point and time of infiltration across the LoC and the subsequent route to the terror attack site; grenades with Pakistani markings; communication matrix sheets; communication equipment; and other stores made in Pakistan, including food, medicines and clothes."

The Foreign Secretary told the Pakistan High Commissioner that India "is ready to provide fingerprints and DNA samples of terrorists killed in the Uri and Poonch incidents," saying they now waited for a response from Islamabad.

This is the second time this year India has offered evidence to Pakistan. On the earlier occasion - after the Pathankot attack in which 7 armymen had died - a team from Pakistan had visited the attack site and was taken through the evidence. But the team later denied that there was conclusive evidence of the terrorists being from Pakistan.

After the meeting, foreign ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted:
We demand that Pakistan lives up to its public commitment to refrain from supporting & sponsoring terrorism against India#UriAttackpic.twitter.com/fytV5fcgl2

- Vikas Swarup (@MEAIndia) September 21, 2016India had blamed Pakistan for the Uri attack, in which 18 soldiers died, after investigators found the four dead terrorists carrying grenades and food with Pakistani markings. The relations between the two countries, frayed since the unrest broke out in Kashmir following the death of terrorist Burhan Wani, had nosedived sharply following the Uri attack.

While India openly admit its role in breaking up of Pakistan by supporting separatists/terrorists since 1960's in East Pakistan.

India involved in whole socalled Balochistan project by supporting terrorists like Barhamdad bughti and Harbyar Mari.

India involved in Karachi unrest by supporting its proxies there, MQM.

India supporting anti-Pakistan element like Aswandyar Wali Khan, Achakzai Khan.

India supporting TTP, BLA, BRP.

Most of this Indias admit openly. As in Ajit Kumar Dovals famous speech which went viral.

If the evidence is good, Pakistan must go ahead with the thorough investigations. However, at this very time what Indian media needs to do is to calm down a little for peace sake.

Yes of course. I don't know why we should shy away with our another assert of war. We will use all means to make India to its knees. That should be our direction on diplomacy. India did it in 1971 now in Afghanistan and Karachi. Let India plead guilty then question our special task force of alah

Our Indian friends should understand. These proof needs to be investigated and trail be thru our court of law. It will take some time. These are fake allegations

Pak High Commissioner should have thrown that trash (the so-called Indian evidence) into the trash basket in the same room while telling his hosts that world doesn't believe in Indian lies.

https://www.thequint.com/uri-attack...and-kashmir-pakistan-neutralise-20-terrorists

At least 20 terrorists have been neutralised in a daring cross-LoC operation by the Indian Army in response to the Uri attack.

Two units of the elite 2 Paras comprising 18-20 soldiers flew across the LoC in the Uri sector in military helicopters and reportedly carried out an operation that killed at least 20 suspected terrorists across three terror camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (Azad Kashmir).

Total casualties, including those injured by terrorists, could be as high as 200, sources said.

Military sources revealed to The Quint, which confirmed this information from two other independent sources, that the operation happened during the intervening hours of 20 September and 21 September.

Indications that the Indian Special Forces struck across LoC came in the form of Pakistan declaring a no-fly zone over Azad Kashmir on 20 September night.

Pakistan’s national flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had cancelled flights to northern Pakistani cities, including to Gilgit and Skardu in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, due to “air space restrictions”.

PIA called off flights to Gilgit and Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan region in Pakistan- occupied-Kashmir (Azad Kashmir) and Chitral in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

PIA spokesperson Danyal Gilani had tweeted this information late Tuesday evening.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Pakistan’s powerful army chief General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday night ahead of his speech at the UN in which he is expected to raise the Kashmir issue. It is understood that they are likely to have discussed this cross-border raid as well.

Speaking at an event earlier today, .
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said.

the Uri attack may need a “knee-jerk” reaction. “Won’t go into details of what India can do, but sometimes knee-jerk reaction is required,” he said.

Hours after the attack on Sunday by four terrorists that led to the deaths of 18 Indian soldiers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had tweeted that those behind the act “would not go unpunished”.

India has blamed the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist outfit for the early morning attacks.

A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs listed the items recovered from the terrorists, including GPS, with coordinates that indicate the point and time of infiltration across the LoC and the subsequent route to the terror attack site; grenades with Pakistani markings; communication matrix sheets; communication equipment; and other items made in Pakistan, including food, medicines and clothes.

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar had summoned Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit on Wednesday and conveyed India’s demand for action by Pakistan to crack down on the terror infrastructure in its territory.

It's time we boldly stand our ground and say yes we will do the same. Cause India did and still doing it.

I wished these kind of attacks would just stop but then there is a problem, India openly admits it supports terrorist in Baluchistan. How can you expect Pakistan to take your bitching seriously when you are a two faced hypocrite yourself?

Weapons/clothes/food belonging to Pakistan can't be accepted as evidence as US arms were also used by Taliban/Al qaida/ISIS so that mean US should be responsible for actions of these organisation ?

I don't see how bharat can expect ANYONE to buy this evidence.

The evidence being used is the same sort of evidence that Bharat itself had rubbished in the past as "not valid". Pakistan military on many occasions presented military equipment that is made in India and used by Indian military. But India never accepted that as "valid evidence". If anything that evidence is stronger than what is being presented in this incident. How can they expect anyone to take them seriously?
