25,000 Farmers Seek President’s Permission To Hang Themselves On Independence Day

no, interest-based economy should have been abolished 68 years ago.

This exactly shows how how much of understanding of economics you have. if not your Libiyan fascination was not utopian enough. You are amusingly the Don Quixote of the PDF world. good day.

This is what wrong with us..... Why should we bother about suicide rates in other countries??? Just to feel they are deeper than us in the same sh1t???

We have a problem and it is the responsibility of the state govt's to help the farmers..... with the state of monsoon this year, situation is going to worse...
personally know two Singhs from Indian Punjab who left farming for construction work lamenting the lack of money despite back breaking hardwork . they worked on a house project for me and paint a bleak picture for farmers of India.

it is not your fault... you are culturally limited... simplifying things for yourself is beyond you.

if i said running cars on salt water should be the way to go, you would come up with a similar line.

the farmer's suicide issue in India is not new. so it needs to be resolved instead of finding excuses

The problem isuch deeper than that

Here you go...

Farmers' suicide: Across culture
Farmers have a horrifyingly high suicide rate. These people are trying to change that. - Vox
Why Farmer Suicide Rates Are the Highest of Any Occupation | Terezia Farkas

Interestingly:
In the U.S. the rate of farmer suicides is just under two times that of the general population. In the U.K. one farmer a week commits suicide. In China, farmers are killing themselves daily to protest the government taking over their prime agricultural lands for urbanization. In France, a farmer dies by suicide every two days. Australia reports one farmer suicides every four days. India yearly reports more than 17,627 farmer suicides. -- Newsweek 2014

Interestingly... reforms are being positioned as anti farmers.. by political parties acros the globes... to some they simply mean "Farmers land will be snatched away and given to large corporate".

Cannot agree more with you

Jesus christ....thats a huge nunber. How come i have never heard about this phenomenon even in our media?

Any reason why they are committing suicide in such large numbers? Over 10,000 suicides every year, thats crazy.
God , this world is so unjust.:(
Not.just limited to India this is also a phenomena in UK,US & France

.
happy "independence day", india... yes, fund the military even more while citizens live pathetic lives one way or another... and yeah, kill the socialists.
Yeah.. all roads lead to Moscow or Warsaw.... :P

Happy independence day to you in advance..

Few of the guys from our ancestral village haven't paid loans worth more than 30 lacs and when the bankers tried to take their land they were greeted with stones and sticks. One of our farm neighbours told me that he owes 6 lacs to SBi since 1997 and after a few years a portion of it gets written off by the government;and he has no plans on repaying it.

India is truly a socialist shithole, let those who seek handouts for inane reason perish....We ain't short on numbers here.

You know it's not fair comparing UK/France and Germany (heavily industrialised countries and former colonial powers) to India. Although, you must have heard about the recent farmers' protests? Farmers have woes' everywhere in this increasingly capitalist world.

Not just India, same is the case in China, East/South East/South Asia, Africa and so on.

If cars could be salt on salt water. your knowledge of since is as much awesome as economics. I understand you are "rationally limited". Not your fault, if only chemistry followed the laws of conspiracy theories. Good day Quixote.
