21 detained while entering Bangladesh from India

Of the detainees, eight are men, seven women, six children and a broker

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained 21 people for entering Bangladesh illegally from India from Nischintapur and Mogdaspur points in Moheshpur upazila of Jhenidah district.

A BGB patrol team from Polianpur Border Outpost (BOP) detained 16 people from Nischintapur while another team from Jululi BOP detained five more from Mogdaspur village around 5am, UNB reported quoting a press release on Saturday.

The detainees claimed that they are all Bangladeshi citizens.

Among the detainees, eight are men, seven women, six children and a broker.

The detainees said they entered India at different times seeking jobs, for treatment and for bringing cattle.

BGB sources said, they were handed over to Jhenidah police station and a case will be filed against them.
