^^^ Numbers don't count really. Its the percentage of internet penetration that matters. Figures for all the developing economies will increase as their economy grows. Predictions for BRICI for 2015.

The huge gap between India and China is basically cause of mobile internet. India has just launched 3G this year, expect internet penetration in India to shoot up.

Yeah, not sure about those numbers. It shows some 12% of Pakistanis having internet, which turns out to be 20m. But Pakistan hit 20m a long time ago, it's probably around 30m now.

Take Bangladesh for example? 2009 figure puts it at 1% penetration, but if this news report is to be believed end of 2011 Bangladesh will have 20 million, thats like almost 12%.

Yup exactly. And with the new DSL broadband being rolled out in Pakistan this year, the percentage is only going to increase.

I think that 2009 was the last recorded date as far as Internet penetration goes. The graphs you gave says the same story. The first one shows the forecast growth in 2015.

But yes, economic growth coupled with infrastructure development means higher Internet penetration rate.

Bangladesh Internet penetration rate isn't that great compared to neighboring countries. Seeing how far the mass's access to technology in Bangladesh, not even in a couple of years. Just too expensive for most Bangladeshis. Internet is very expensive here, compared to other countries.
