Whoever thought that a flower could hold so much power, was, well... right! As China's National Day approaches, thousands of pots of flowers are sprouting up around Beijing to mark the holiday. And this year, the center masterpiece will be a giant flower basket at the center of Tian'anmen Square.

Artificial flowers with a diameter of 3 to 5 meters will be arranged in the giant basket along with real peony blossoms. Several other flower beds will take shape at Tian'anmen Square to show peace and prosperity in the country. Meanwhile, 20 million flower pots will be placed on Chang'an Avenue and other major highways and blocks in Beijing.

Lights, lasers, and water fountain displays will add to the holiday atmosphere at night. Construction on the flower basket will be completed around September 25th.
