2010 worst year for Pak film industry

. .
I wonder how do the Pakistanis live without Pakistani movies?
The regional movies are very good in showing the mentality of the country and people

Well Pakistanis mostly rely on dramas and music for entertainment. As for the movies, people watch both English and Indian movies but no doubt we still want our own industry to revive itself.

2010 isn't the only bad year for films but the whole last decade was. Upto nineties, our film industry was doing fine business but after that the quality declined.

 well then give us credit for watching Indian mentality since decades even when there were VCRs and no dish, cable in Pakistan :P

movies create Jobs they also help put food on the table and children in school........

Well not exactly those who are making movies and those who are acting in it mainly the main roles are among privileged classes.

Cinema owners, the royalty people and so on are all well-of.

Rest the poor class hardly get enough fee for their hardwork.
Have you seen extras been paid good amount ? Though their dance and the dance of hero, heroin is the same, same hardwork and all

People need education and jobs right now, not movies!

Poverty jumped 10% since Musharraf left, this is not the time anymore

Wrong freeking!

Pakistanis are normal human beings and they want entertainment too. Entertainment is a part of life. Thankfully our dramas and music have always retained good standards and have provided some relief. So a established film industry will do wonders for us. We need it more than anyone.

Jana i would say anyways that money is not going to be in the welfare of nation. So its better that they invest in some good meaningful movies. At one end they can generate money and other it can address social issues and their evils in Pakistan.

Movies have more reach to people then the actual media because of the element on entertainment involved.

(Now taunt time)And people will also be saved from watching evil Bharti movies and propaganda machine and then claim that they dont watch it.

pakistan film industry had golden period in 70's & 80's, but now it is in shambles. the reason i think is lack of infrastructure & quality.

Very right.

But the issue is also that most of the Cinemas have been converted into shopping malls, the professional educated producers have left the industry and traders have become film producers.

In such a situation when these traders want 4th rate copy of the third rate copy of films, spend low amount on production, include senseless songs, and scenes sans any real story who wants to get out of homes in busy schedule to watch that in the first place.

An interesting phenomenon is talking place here in KP atleast that now DVD drams and films are making hugeeeeeeee amount of money reaching to people through cable system.

Again it is not at all substitute to cinemas but alas cinemas are being razed for constructing plazas.

but sadly quality sells less to youth of these days
any quality film in india is termed as "award film" or "criticaly acclaimed"
well thats the end of the financial story for that film
quality only cannot hold up a film industry
