Astra Mk2 this year and Astra Mk3 next year to be tested: DRDO Chief – Indian Defence Research Wing (idrw.org)

Looks like indian reliance on French Israeli & Russian BVRS are coming to end

Astra 1 110km
Astra 2 160km
Astra 3 340km

All indian front line fighters will be able to use Astra family of fighters

SU30MKI already 200+ ordered and fully tested
Lca mark1 next few months testing and validation ( lca only using derby) at present
Mirage2000
Mig29 upg

Not sure about Rafale

Mark 2 to be tested on su30mki late 2021 - early 2022

Mark 3 2023

LCA mark1a will start with Elta 2052 first 20 fighters
Then Uttam Aesa next 63 planes

Astra 1 & 2 wil be carried by LCA in all versions eventually giving awesome BVR threat

First off, Congratulations to you guys.

I'm sure Astra Trilogy will be as successful as the LCA Tejas - one can only hope.

But lets not kid ourselves that there will ever be an end to the supply chain from the West as long as we share a border. Sure, you can arm your...Tejas.

But having a few diecast models of future jets at AeroIndia and saying that they will be operational in a decade is...a joke.

If India is planning on buying Foreign equipment, you can be sure the Astra will be taking a back seat to the hardware that is battle-tested, as opposed to something that looks great in online brochures or promotional videos on YouTube.

For Pakistan: Congratulations too.

Unsure, what about trolling?

Astra 1 is already inducted. It is not just model.

Astra 2 and 3 are coming for sure with greater range..

they better get used to trolling because the modi built in India programme is now in full swing
the shear range of weapons in developments is huge it's hard to keep pace
we have 12 different stand off missles in development or entering service
they will need to troll a.lot to deflect attention

OHM ... again what i tried to explain to you yesterday! Thsi is what you hype in the headline:

2 new longer ranger BVR missles to enter Service in next 2 years

... and then if one reads the text you note correctly:

Mark 2 to be tested on su30mki late 2021 - early 2022

Mark 3 2023

But a test in 2022 or 2023 does not mean "enters service within 2 years!" Just look how long the Mark 1 is being tested and still not delivered to frontline units?

I really don't understand that again and again you claim things that cannot be held and that's exactly the reason why NO-ONE believes in any of your or Indian claims. :hitwall:

Not sure why you always brag around and show off and then you are upset and disappointed since "it is always envy and bad-will".

I would like to mention another gem out of India.... Nag anti tank mijjile...

Development started in 1988 and is on going 33 years in making

sarcasm is fine buddy
but it will not alter what is happening .
the indian military is now being equipped with every conceveilable weapon from both home and abroad.
In other words we are buying top end combat systems from.abroad the best that money can buy ie s400 or Rafale and meteore bvr and complementing with very home made alternative options ie
Astra bvr
tejas mark 1 and 1a
indian light attack choppers
Destroyers,
nuke subs
drones, surveillance

simply laughing about it will.not help pakistan
wingman drones

Mk-1 has been inducted and deployed on Su-30s and is being integrated with Tejas, Mig-29, Mirage 2K as of now

Clearly Pakistan hasn't realised India of today. India 33 years ago was a poorest nation on the planet begging for alms and support around the world. India today is 5th largest economy on the planet with large manufacturing base and a capable private sector. Your rants are only good for trolling.

Pity you creatures need a Pakistani platform to have a voice which is understandable because your own forums are nothing more than echo chambers and case of blind leading blind.
But since you people have a habit of crawling out of your skin so naturally you need to be put back in your place.....you talk of Modi and built in India in same sentence is just laughable......remember when the test came, same Modi was crying for Rafales and not for Tejas or anything else Indian and your Agni Pankh Patils were waving an AMRAAM pulled out of India's smashed pride.
In reality, arming IAF with Indian weapons will be an overkill for PAF. Last time you fielded an Indian platform, PAF didn't even need an aircraft or missile to bring it down, a made in Pakistan G-3 rifle did the job.

Joke thread, about joke news, posted by joke posters. These guys claim steel cut on AMCA and 240 Arjuns in operation, now claim world beating BVR missiles. Still using WW2 Sterling machine guns and 60 year old armoured vehciles.
