Two militants were killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Anantnag town of this south Kashmir district on Wednesday.

A senior police official said two bodies of the militants have been recovered from the site of a gunfight in Mehmaan mohalla of Anantnag town.

He said their identity is being established. "Firing has stopped. A search operation is on," said the official.

Earlier, police said that two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were trapped in the gunfight that raged since early morning.

An official said that forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area following inputs about the presence of militants.

“As the forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight,” he said.

Internet was shut in Anantnag district while train service was suspended across south Kashmir in view of the gunfight.

An eye witness said that the forces blasted the house in which the militants were trapped.

Excellent.

Their wish of being free has been granted.

And then they say we don't give them what they want.

Kashmir voted for Pakistan today

They are under the impression that killing Kashmiris gets them something

The last few years have been superb in Kashmir with Burhan Wanis death being a enourmous turning point

Kashmiris stone them on the street and they cant sustain a democratic set up falling back on direct rule

As Hindutva rises in india the Kashmiris have woken up

The deaths of freedom fighters only brings Kashmiris together in celebration during their funerals which are a anti indian gold mine:coffee:
