2 freedom fighters arrested in Kulgam

Two LeT terrorists, one of them injured were arrested by the security forces after yesterday's encounter in Kulgam concluded. The arrests were made in Kund village, Kulgam South Kashmir today as was confirmed by police sources present in the area.



The injury is being attributed to the fierce gun battle that broke out between the terrorists and the security forces soon after the encounter broke out not just in Kulgam but in Pulwama also. The two district were immediately put into lock down with internet and train services being suspended in order to deter mobs from gathering thereby preventing potential stone pelting incidences.

In recent times the security footprint in South Kashmir has been stepped up after reports of recruitment of local boys by terror outfits came out. South Kashmir has emerged as hub of volatile activity with the police confirming that another suspect was arrested during regular naka checks near Check e Budwani in the same district.

Yesterday's encounter ended with one jawan being martyred and a police constable getting injured along with one casualty on the side of the terrorist. The security forces recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from the encounter site.
