And i'm just curious - Pak attacked India in 1999, India successfully repelled the attacks, and reclaimed its territory. Why did we not see a retaliatory response from pak across India's western theater? After all, as per your claims, the pre-condition for a "full blown war" was satisfied.

Good question, as you might remember, Clinton had jumped in and Pakistan was facing the brunt of an international "Pressure Group", an already isolated Pakistan was at risk of being totally forsaken. Thus, sensibility lay in pulling back to status quo.
