19th SAARC Conference in Islamabad 2016-News and Updates

This is proof of India's rising influence. We should not discount countries like Bhutan with which we have nothing against standing beside the Indian government. No matter what we portray Pakistan's foreign policy has failed utterly. India has constantly been portraying us as a pariah state and they are succeeding.
Its as @hellfire say . Perception!!!

I think that's the key word.
War is a costly business and if you can prove your position by creating a perception and subsequently support on your position, it probably is the best thing to do!

A word on IWT, war or no war, i think with kind of water problems, both nations are facing (thanks to climate change), i think the treaty would've come under scrutiny in near future.

India must not go to war with Pakistan unless It is 10+ trillion USD Economy and develops military muscle proportionately- I don't see that happening before 2035- Hope I will live to see the day-

Afghanistan - does not have even exist as a country today and its stooge regime exercise its control over just part of Kabul.
Bangladesh- indian stooge regime which has no election mandate but survive on gun point.
Bhutan - is throughly controlled and occupied by india.

indian "world", as it stands, evolves around 3 countries hijacked by indian stooges. That is how much indian foreign policy accomplishment with 1.2 billion people, has to show for. That is not only pathetic but utterly shameless.

aren't you (and many others here) mixing up 'region' and 'world'? SAARC is a regional body and apart from India all others in the region happen to be pretty small in comparison including Pakistan. So what's the point attacking them because they are small?

Your comment about India's foreign policy accomplishments kinda fall flat against facts: they have successfully pivoted out of Russian dependency into an economic power. Before that India's foreign policy was basically to ensure cheap oil and milk powder; now they are punching a bot closer to their weight IMO

The worlds most powerful organisation SAARC's summit has been canceled and its the same organization whom organisations like SCO, ASEAN, EU and Arab League envy.

@The Eagle @Areesh :D

That will not happen it will be like SK & NK , why would we fight with pakistan and lose our economic prosperity ?

What ppl in PDF consider as cowardness and scores of folks do chest thumping, in fact restraint helps us achieve a much better avenues.. since the day URI happened, track 2 communication with multiple countries will see the price of this restraint. On one side groups like SAARC will be made irrelevant, on other side pressure will build up upon the same Pakistani government to show some response with which the so called powers will again ask Modi to drop by Lahore and start peace process..

In doing so , India for this part will get right from investments to market to accolodaes.. and to force Pakistan the same powers will make the situation tougher with China also slowly but steadily agreeing to this situation for its interests and benefits..

Ultimately it's a written script already.. one just needs to see the larger picture to understand what is going on really.. yes we lost soldiers and we will get the perpetrators one day.. at the time and place we choose.. but the path we have chosen to achieve it will only make life a lot more difficult for GOP, especially bcz the cost of India's restraint is pretty high..

You lost 18 soldiers because of your oppression of Kashmir.

Pakistan simply supports the people and asks for a referendum

You dont have restraint, restraint was forced upon you by your lack of military options

Why should any pressure be placed on Pakistan for Uri, when indian's cant even provide any actionable evidence?

It is all because of Lucknow.

Only if Lucknow would have been part of Pakistan, Pakistan would have been a hyper super dooper power and nobody would have dared to boycott this meeting.

Let me add on to what @PARIKRAMA has said.

One has to realise that CPEC notwithstanding, SAARC was a forum where Pakistan could have played a very significant role as a partner of equal stature on it's economic might in the region. However, by relying extensively on CPEC alone, it effectively has left itself completely reliant on the project.

On the other hand, by engaging the remaining countries less Pakistan and getting Myanmar and Thailand into the fold, what India has done is created a bigger bloc to effectively engage with China.

Members have to realise that international politics have no permanent friends or foes, only permanent interests. All international relationships between the nations are in shades of grey, you can not and will not be able to classify them either as black or white, as each nation is looking after it's interests either by aligning with your interests or by opposing them.

All such actions are transient.

By forming an alternate block and inviting them to BRICS, India has effectively provided and alternate, which is equally appealing if not more to China.

What matters to China, is access to markets, and alternate route to Indian Ocean. This block can provide that to China too.

Just a speculation here. But one needs to think on these terms.

That is why I put the condition become a 10 trillion USD economy GDP nominal wise and then you can start thinking about military action- till that day comes don't even think about It-

Pakistan humiliated by the boycott of SAARC summit by a rogue state, India? Indians need to feel disgraced by their rogue behavior and shameless brinkmanship. Indians had pain in their neck and wanted to attack Pakistan after freedom fighters' deadly attack at the Uri Army HQ. After spitting a lot of venom against Pakistan and continued war mongering, spineless Indians found themselves biting the dust because these cowards were hell scared by mighty counter punch by Pakistan. They were furious but helpless. The only thing that could manage to do was arm-twist their smaller neighbor states to boycott the summit. It is indeed utterly disgraceful that the biggest country in the region fell so low. Did we lose anything by canceling the summit? Not really. We rather have a peace of mind. Had the summit not cancelled, we would have seen continuous shit-spinning by Indians for Modi going or not going to attend the summit just like dead donkey lying in a well for indefinitely long. At least we now have time to do useful stuff rather than wasting time, effort, and energy for useless SAARC summit.
Pakistan have always tried to support the smaller states (like we supported Sri Lankans to crush Indian terrorism in their country) to protect them from Indian blackmail and coercive tactics. But these states seem to be willing to act for Indians like leashed monkeys and get humiliated, it's their own choice.

Couldn't have said it any better. It is a good thing this crappy summit got cancelled. Resolve Kashmir or fvck off. Plain and simple.
