1971 War: The Battle of Hussainiwala

I think your reading comprehension is very poor, while the article has been written from an Indian perspective; it clear that you lost the battle you lost the front. Your defenses were uprooted in this battle and we captured a strategic Indian territory and we took prisoners also.

Yeah!! so?? We still won the war!!

The often repeated figure of '90,000' is a fabricated figure, there were no doubts POWs( who had no reason to fight for a place filled with traitors ) but the POW figure of 90,000 is highly exaggerated as has been the case with most of india’s military engagements , which have been highly exaggerated.

Indians relied on terrorists for the war in 71 and cannot lay claim to victory without accepting their support for terrorism against Pakistan.

Indians are known to fabricate stories from fake encounters in Kashmir to get medals, to lies about the war in Kargil where point 5353 is still not with them.

If a lie is repeated too many times than it cannot become the truth

The Pakistani forces did fight valiantly in the Western front in 1971.I acknowledge that. The only problem is,the problem that is with Pakistani army for ever. They fought, they had the initial victories, but in the end, could not consolidate their initial upper edge and advantages.

Pakistan employed its entire available artillery resources, comprising aproximately 400 guns, followed by an attack employing four infantry battalions (around 5,000 troops) and a squadron of armour (around 14 tanks).

against just two companies of 15 Punjab , each under Majors Kanwaljit and Waraich's ...
and a unit of medium machine gun (MMG) detachment located at the tower, under the command of Naik Surjit Singh,

and the end result , pakistan army retreat , taken back injured Major Waraichwith along them ....total 52 , 15 punjab companyman reported missing and their bodied never recovered , it was said that they were caputered , but denied by the pakistan extablishments...

Nope there was no retreat till the cease fire , after we tore down your defenses and kicked you out from Hussaniwala we held the territory till the cease fire.
The wikipedia account of the battle that you hurriedly goggled is inaccurate, like I said your reading comprehension is poor , read the article again your own general has said that the numbers that attacked your positions was no more than two infantry battalions and your commanding officer exaggerated the numbers to his superiors.

Also read the account of the single commenter, he says he was there and on the front there were no officers and actually a havladar was in command at the front. So obviously the account of how many attacked their position was cooked up by the officers later on.

I have firsthand knowledge of this from someone who was there in this battle.
You lost here , we captured territory that remained with us till the cease fire, it was only retuned post-war as part of the negotiations.

Strange but most of the Pakistanis here are caught in a time warp. Very strange.

This is military history section so it has to be about the events that took place in the past and indeed truth can be stanger than [indian] fiction ;)

I do not doubt a your Army's capability but don't you think sticking on something that is history is irrelevant at this moment?

i am surprised , some one missleading you !!

You poor thing ; give this one a rest , you can’t win this one , you were defeated here fair and square
41 Baloch and 3 Panjab tore apart your defenses and captured prized territory, you have been whining since then that you Major Warriach is in our custody.

Clutching at straws are we ? nowhere in the account presented by your own general it says that you were able to take back the territory that you lost at Hussaniwala during the war he talks about what might have been if they had gone ahead with this or that plan , which never materialized otherwise he would have definitely gloated about it in his own account

you should also look at the world map post 1947, your self-proclaimed bharat mata has been chopped up in not two but three parts ever since and neither of the two parts are under indian rule anymore. The eventual separation of East Pakistan overall is beneficial to Pakistan
