My mum's welsh. So they did invade there. Besides my Dad could be of Norman descent and I would still call myself English. I wouldn't say you necessarily had to be Anglo Saxon to be english.

The Turks were a menace to a lot of European empires as well. But the Spanish, Austrians and Russians fought back. Even the Turks came close to being occupied, but they fought. The Mayan empires could not.

I came across this recently and was outraged by the way the British killed captured Indian 'mutineers' during the 1857 revolt.

This disturbing painting by Vasili Vasilyevich Vereshchagin shows British soldiers executing participants in the Indian Revolt of 1857. Alleged 'rebels' were tied to the muzzles of cannon, which would then be fired.

This brutal method of execution made it nearly impossible for the sepoys' families to perform the proper Hindu or Muslim funeral rites.

Have things changed? I don't think so, what with Western troops seen urinating on dead bodies and other such despicable acts in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

And these guys are the first to point fingers at all and sundry for human rights violations!

You should see how the Germans treated the Russians, and how the Austrians treated the Serbs. And of course the French were pretty brutal in Spain. There is no such thing as "White unity". Never was. Nor will there be any "Asian unity". Im speaking of China Japan and Korea of course.
