18-yr-old Chinese young man who gets life sentence for buying replica guns

Powerful enough to seriously hurt others, specially near distance or shot in head, though I don't think it can kill people like following gun.
I agree to #12 post, he buy too many. Smuggling weapons and illegal possession firearm are two competely different crimes.

Oh there are BB/pellet guns that are nasty and are illegal to own here without a permit. I'm thinking it must be one of them.

Here's a closeup on the pistols.

Are you kidding me?
His father and mother are farmers,Dawei Liu ever worked in a factory which is far away from his hometown.
If you are a person who knows China, you then can know that "30000 yuan" is not just a pocket money for Dawei liu.
His family might have far more money than "30000 yuan",but they will not spend "30000 yuan" on toys just for fun.
On the other hand, even if "Taiwanese online store would not accept an order under 20 pieces." is true, then why did Dawei liu buy 24 pieces not 20 pieces?
People spend large amounts for their passion.. that is not up to you to tell how they should spend their own money.. why should he not buy 24 pieces? those are replica rifles for brain's sake.. the whole issue is ridiculously low energy threshold set by govt.. technically, they can arrest people even for f@rting under this threshold..
