A 16-year-old boy who had joined militancy heeded to parents’ call and returned home in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said today.

An official said that the boy, a resident of Chimmer village - a far flung area in Damhal-Hanjipora tehsil surrendered before police following an appeal by his parents.

He had left his home on September 27 this year.

Meanwhile, reports quoting the Kashmir Police Chief Muneer Khan said that the boy hasn’t surrendered. “He has neither surrendered not been apprehended. He has just returned to his family,” Khan was quoted as saying.

The development comes just days after a footballer-turned-militant Majid Khan returned home after an emotional appeal by his parents.

Children better play football and take care of their parents. Every one cannot become Mujahid Fi Sabeelillah.
Burhan was 15 when he joined freedom ranks and Faizan was 14.

P.S. Reverse psychology rarely works on people who have seen firsthand what happens to those who pick up the gun.

But kudos for still trying ...

What must be appreciated is how in the Valley the army and police and elders and parents are working together like a family to save young men. Our future.

Full protection will be given to these bravehearts. And their families. From retribution from those who might now feel betrayed.

Cheers, Doc

Dr Sab.
They cannot return back without approval from prescribed area commanders. Credit is not all yours.
I am sure you have a little bit idea of Guerrilla warfare.
