Giri is sanskrit term for mountain....so maybe the name itself comes from a long time back and has stuck around.

Its same as blue mountain. Giri, Parbat = Highest peak mountains. Pahar=Lowest hills.

Dont act like retard which you dont know. Before Marak Us Harikela kingdom of Chittagong was separate from Bangla. Earlier Marak U kings of Arakan was subject to Bengal Sultans and Mughals and played as tributary state of Bengal. And took shelter in Bengal from onslaught of Burmese invader. Lately they went rogue with Portuguese pirates so Mughals divided Chittagong. Subsequently remaining part fell under Burmese invasion, then British, then Japanese+Burmese, then British, then again Burmese.

Give freedom to Arakan, we will also consider freedom to Chittagong. And free Arakan kingdom will play as tributary state of Bengal as it was before.
