Police says Afghan nationals cannot produce any document for their identity
ISLAMABAD – Sihalah and Bhara Kau police stations on Saturday arrested 27 suspects including 15 Afghan nationals as they could not produce any document for their identity, a police spokesman said.
The police conducted search operation in various areas of their jurisdiction in which they screened houses, workshops, markets, under construction buildings and residential areas. The search operation has been initiated and the police are conducting checking at slum areas, inns, hotels and restaurants and Afghan habitats.
These measures are being taken to ensure foolproof security and keep vigilant eye on the suspected elements. On Saturday, various teams of Bhara Kau police conducted search operation in various areas of its jurisdiction including Kot Hathyal while Sihala police station conducted thorough combing and search in its respective area.
Police commandos including lady commandos, women police also participated in the operation while sniffer dogs were also used in some areas. The search operations would continue in coming days and complete combing would be made of sensitive areas, the spokesman said.
The teams succeeded to arrest 15 Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan while 12 other suspects were also arrested. A senior police officer said that the purpose of this search operation and high vigilance was to ensure foolproof security in the city. He directed all police station heads to continue operation.
