15 immigrants among 27 arrested in Islamabad
Police says Afghan nationals cannot produce any document for their identity

ISLAMABAD – Sihalah and Bhara Kau police stations on Saturday arrested 27 suspects including 15 Afghan nationals as they could not produce any document for their identity, a police spokesman said.


The police conducted search operation in various areas of their jurisdiction in which they screened houses, workshops, markets, under construction buildings and residential areas. The search operation has been initiated and the police are conducting checking at slum areas, inns, hotels and restaurants and Afghan habitats.


These measures are being taken to ensure foolproof security and keep vigilant eye on the suspected elements. On Saturday, various teams of Bhara Kau police conducted search operation in various areas of its jurisdiction including Kot Hathyal while Sihala police station conducted thorough combing and search in its respective area.


Police commandos including lady commandos, women police also participated in the operation while sniffer dogs were also used in some areas. The search operations would continue in coming days and complete combing would be made of sensitive areas, the spokesman said.


The teams succeeded to arrest 15 Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan while 12 other suspects were also arrested. A senior police officer said that the purpose of this search operation and high vigilance was to ensure foolproof security in the city. He directed all police station heads to continue operation.

They aren't, strictly speaking, part of Islamabad. Barakahu us a town on the outskirts, but since Islamabad has expanded, Barakahu is also now regarded as such. Same with Sihala.

I still remember that day when i hired a booked car for my travel to Isb but i was stopped at the check post. Driver apparently bolstered about his political relation and told policema 100 rupay wali police ho tum. In reply he said mein gashti maa ka bacha hoon agar tum logoon ko janay doon. After swearing a thousand words on himself he actually took 300 rupees and left. That day i understood pakistani paisay kay liye apni ma ko bi baich saktay hein. Itni bari baat ki usnay apni ma kay baray mein and in the end he showed his real face.

OT : If Afghans are such a nuisance, why are political parties not raising this more vigorously ..? They will certainly get traction in urban areas.. Atleast PTI can take this chance considering its voter base is based on educated class people.
