BANNU: At least 13 militants, including Arab and Uzbek fighters, were killed in fresh air strikes in North Waziristan Agency Wednesday morning. This came a day after 17 militants – including Haqqani Network members – were killed in an air blitz.

Wednesday’s air raids targeted the hideouts of militants in Datta Khel tehsil, which used to be a stronghold of Hafiz Gul Bahadur, a local commander allied with the Haqqani Network, an official of the security forces said. Several hideouts of militants were also destroyed in the air strikes.

Independent local sources said that fighter jets bombed the safe havens of militants in Khar Tangi, Maizer and Mada Khel areas of Datta Khel. Soon after the blitz, fighters loyal to Hafiz Gul Bahadur rushed to the site to retrieve bodies. Sources said that 13 bodies were pulled out from the rubble – six of them were identified as Arab nationals and seven Uzbeks.

Security forces have imposed a curfew in the area and no one is allowed to travel on the main roads, local sources said, adding that helicopter gunships also bombed suspected hideouts of militants in the morning – but there was no official or unofficial word on the casualties from these strikes.

Over in Khyber Agency, two members of the banned Lashkar-e-Islam (LeI) extremist group were killed in a clash with rival Tauheedul Islam (TuI) militia on Wednesday. Seven TuI fighters were also wounded in the clash that took place in the Naray Baba area of Tirah Valley, an official of the security forces confirmed to The Express Tribune.

Separately, the bodies of eight militants killed in Tuesday’s failed attack on security check posts in Orakzai Agency were shifted to a Levies centre in the Shakas area of Khyber Agency for identification.

here is a thought, why doesn't PAF leave a drone behind in the area after the bombing run?
As soon as these so called fighters come back to retrieve the bodies, the drone cold relay the info to the base and PAF can do another bombing run

Hi,

That is where you need a squad of MI 35's---with troops to comes---start from outside---ie---the surrounding mountains and drop down.

When you make an air strike on a target---the terrs will disperse to the sides----possibly climbing upinto the mountain hideouts----you send your gunships in-----they start clearing the mountain side and tops---you drop your troops on he mountain top and they start clearing the terrs and then you drop the troops in the middle ad they start clearing the center.

You still have the aircraft flying over head---you still have gunships providing you coverage and your ground troops are cleaning up the mess left behind---. Looks simple---doesn't it.

What i meant was, PAF is already using drones for recce work. Sometimes you really don't have to blow them up, your source might be nearby. You need to confirm using the word of the mouth that who was killed and who escaped.
