11-year-old Sameer Kayani, a resident of Laswa area of Athmuqam in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir was intercepted by Indian Army deployed in the forward areas after he inadvertently crossed into Indian side on Thursday.

The Army has handed over an 11-year-old boy from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (Azad Kashmir) who had inadvertently crossed into this side of the Line of Control (LoC), to the Pakistani Army.

Sameer Kayani, a resident of Laswa area of Athmuqam in Azad Kashmir was intercepted by troops deployed in the forward areas after he inadvertently crossed into this side on Thursday, army officials said here Sunday night. The Army sent an urgent hot line message to the Pakistan side, after the boy was intercepted, they said.

The officials said that the message was initiated to inform the Pakistan Army of the safety and well being of Kayani along with a request for a flag meeting so that the boy could be repatriated and united with his family at the earliest.

"The flag meeting was held at the Teetwal Crossing Point and the boy was handed over to representatives of Pakistan Army by the unit based at Tanghdar frontier area," the officials said.

The Army also gave Kayani a pair of new clothes and sweets for his family across the borders.

At least they didn't detain him for years, ignored court orders, and then released him near the end of his teen years...or detain him, ignore court orders, torture him, pluck out his eyes and kill him, then return his body.

Now Pakistan and India can be totes BFF.

very few pakistanis & indians cross that border,besides I doubt he wilfully jumped over a fence, that would have invited trouble. Some borders are open, and people stray, very rarely it happens.

There has been cases in which intruders have been shot there too.

On another occasion, we retrieved the body of an Indian Jawan from the river, since we had destroyed the bridge between our positions, we communicated our intention to return the body at another point in the Neelum Valley rather than the Jhelum where tensions had been at their highest, the body was returned with complete military protocol.

That's really heart warming to know,sir. So much respect for each other and spirit of professionalism and yet we are at each others throat for mere political ego boosting.
