101 Things to do in India

Visited Kerala backwaters three months after I went to Hawaii - Felt Kerala backwaters is much more beautiful than Hawaii. My father mentioned he thought about Venice when he saw Kerala backwaters - each had their own perception but this was a place closer to where I was living and missed out all my life till I moved out of India.

Likewise another place - Hogenekkal falls - ethereal beauty.

There is a proverb in malayalam "Muttathe Mullakku Manamilla" (You may not recognise the fragrance of jasmine in your courtyard)..... Well one info.... Aleppy is called Venice of East......so your dad was right....

Yeah you are right.... There was a resort named Vythiri resorts in india..... i came to know about that once Forbes magazine put it in its must see 100 place list of the world.....That place was less than 100 kms from my house and i came to know this from forbes magazine...

Mate - I am not getting into **** measuring contest but stated my view. Still I can say Andhra and Pondicherry is missing from the list. So the list is very subjective though a good effort.

If you are like waterfalls..... go during monsoon.... You can lot of waterfalls in munnar too..... If you are able to get to some private properties (home stay type) would be amazing.....

I would go, but the few times I've been to India, I try to avoid flying during the monsoon (being a nervous flyer and all), regardless I went to Munnar in August and it was gorgeous. I've seen the waterfalls too, quite a couple, there is one in particular that I will never forget though, it was a two part waterfall (don't know if that makes sense), and at the bottom of the second part were two vehicles (one truck and one car) that had toppled over the side, haunting stuff....
