100% price escalation on Rafale fighter aircraft to Rs 1.75 lakh crore likely to dent IAF's strike c

$120 million per plane is too high for a country like India even with the threats around.

I think its high time to look for alternatives rather than dragging and wasting- time, patience, energy and money.
plus if this deal might happen it will also also show impacts on future DRDO projects aswell such as amca, fmbt etc.

This could be a political gimmick that price is increasing.. lets finalize the deal before it raisen again. French being generous can honor their quoted price and that would make Indians and French happy.
That's the only explanation I can think of. To sell 126 birds for the stated price seems to be an insult to the intelligence of the buyers.

Let's buy individual components that's lagging in our R & D ., and built our own AMCA ..

Not sure how much the price of EFT would have escalated ?
Anyone have idea about this?

$10 billion was the approximate deal amount to sell 60 Eurofighter jets to the United Arab Emirates late last year.

How did the price double in 2 years in $ terms itself?
Buy one get one free offer?
Something is not right in the price escalation.

This is what happens when you take forever to make a decision... Next time how about not keeping a bidding open forever and never trust the frenchies, they are useless.

You know at this point LCA is starting to appear marvelous because irrespective of its delays and lapses, it is at least there to meet Indian needs... MMRCA is under smoke and FGFA is looking less than shiney. India might want to expedite work on MCA as it would get India something it can actually count on. These foreign-supported projects are not a success story so far.

Yup that's it, screw the French.
This is intolerable.

Just coz IAF doesn't have any alternatives doesn't mean they should pay almost twice the original amount.
