Ten personnel of the Pakistan armed forces, including an officer, were martyred in two separate attacks in North Waziristan tribal district and Balochistan, the military's media wing said on Saturday.

In the first incident, six Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred when terrorists from across the Afghan border opened fire on a border patrolling party near Gurbaz area of North Waziristan district.

"Terrorists from across the border fire raided on Pakistan Army border patrolling party [...] 6 Soldiers embraced shahadat," a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) read.

The deceased soldiers include Havaldar Khalid, Sepoy Naveed, Sepoy Bachal, Sepoy Ali Raza, Sepoy Mohammad Babar and Sepoy Ahsan.

In the second incident, four armed forces personnel were martyred when a contingent of Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan troops was fired upon by militants during a combing/sensitisation operation between Hushab and Turbat, the ISPR said in a second press release.

The troops martyred in Balochistan include Capt Aqib, Sepoy Nadir, Sepoy Atif Altaf and Sepoy Hafeezullah.

Hi,

These deaths---two separate locations---two similar numbers of losses---.

Without knowing insider information---this seems to be some lack in security---or lapse in judgement---.

Are pakistani soldiers officers issued bullet proof vests---? If you guys know---.
maybe snipers or suicide attack. an ambush cant be prevented 100% even with all the correct judgement and protection.
it was coordinated attack for sure with a state support

Can we have a few drones up in the air during day time and have them loaded with a few guided bombs or a gun... These scum bags dread the drones

All Pakistani soldiers and officers are issued vests whenever they’re deployed in any location. Even in checkpoints in completely safe areas like Cantonments, Now a days they’re almost always Steel plates. Rated to stop upto a .308 (7.62x51 NATO) round. But they don’t make you immune to bullets and especially not to RPGs and suicide attacks sadly.
It’s true that we can’t tell what happened there that caused them to come under fire. It could be that they had faulty intel, a lapse in judgment, maybe even a bad choice somewhere. Or it could be that they had none and just did their duty. Either way. Ina Lila hi wa inna ilihi Rajioon.

Hi,

Inside the vest there is a ceramic plate or a steel plate---.

I mean to say---these are one too many deaths on a single ocassion---. How are they getting trapped---.
