Because in many cases their other family members has made into the list, in many cases they are woman and children. They are just extreme poor floating people facing the music.

2 million was about what would be expected in Assam. No one believed anyone that said 20 mil or 60 mil or whatever (those referred to total figures in whole of India anyway)....maybe some times more can be found in rest of NE and the big one (west bengal).

I mean your Karachi supposedly has 3 million (most even with CNIC now) right? So simply extrapolate what it would be like for much closer areas to the source.

India has time, after appeals process and foreigner tribunal process is done, that goes on the final record of the illegals. Lot of time and politics to be had while SHW is still in power in BD. Once she is gone, a few pilkhanas will be done inside BD to provide the cover for one fell swoop from results of as national a NRC done by that point (not just Assam).

First let India push them. Then we will decide what to do. By the way in 1947 how much land Pakistan ( joint) get? So why should the Muslim countries of this region take responsibility of Indian Muslims without Indian land?

Or did you only ask that what Bangladesh is thinking about Bengal speakers? Well Bangladesh is for Bangladeshi Bengal speakers, not for Indian Bengal speakers.

So if India cancel the citizenship of their own people that doesn't concern Bangladesh. India just can dump their citizen ( after cancelling citizenship) on Indian Ocean if they wish, that's their own business!

Or if ummah is concern, then Bangladesh isn't only Muslim country. If others specially rich Arabs can manage to get Indian land to make a safe place for the rest of Indian Muslims, Bangladesh will happily assists them.

But, I wonder why the Assamese living in the underdeveloped hinterland jungle can be so xenophobic. Actually, these Chinese descendants are worried about their own position in their own land. They are intellectually less capable than the Hindu Bengalis and physically less capable than the Muslims. These Chinese should be expelled to their former land in China.
