I agree. Iran has developed own subs, own aircrafts, own satellite launchers... It's way easier to develop a replenishmet ship like Kharg. If Iran does not have now other ships like Kharg is not because of Know-how but because of budget. I think this will be fixed soon, more probably by IRGC...

I think also the same: Iran has some aces hidden, at least one project for fighters (don´t know if manned or unmanned). So the purchases from Russia (I discard China in this area of fighters) will be limited. Also the budget is very limited, so a BIG aircraft purchase it seems extremely complicated.

Any new jet aircraft is build around its engines. First you have the engines (or at least the engine design), and after that you build the rest. The opposite is not impossible but it is against good-manners engineering. Extra-cost, extra-time, extra-troubles. I think a manned aircraft also...

Iran has TONS of types of Air Defence systems, and TONS of numbers of these systems. As Draco said before, Iran is making 3rd Khordad like cookies, and so with many systems. Also, Iran has many types of SHORAD systems, including radar guided, EO guided AAA systems, extremely cheap and efficient.

I think Iran will go for some Russian fighters (not a lot, maybe 30 or 40) with ToT. If not ToT, Iran will not purchase them. I think Iran wants Su-30 or Su-35 (or Su.57??) mainly in order to learn new things, not in order to re-build its air force. Why? Because i think Iran has several fighter...
