Kazakhstan switches to the Latin alphabet.

Welcome move, but please at least provide a source or some information.

Look what the Japanese, Chinese, Koreans and Russians have achieved with a non-Latin language...

You're absolutely right but in this case it's the right decision and part of a wider derussification policy.

Currently its' Arabic/Persian type script. Similar to ottoman Turkish.

In the past Turkic Council attempted unification in as many areas as possible. In language part this couldnt achived, because they couldnt agreed on which alphabet should be used by all the members.

We managed to create defence ties with each other. Turkey shares technology and invests. We have a unified security organization much like a militarized police force (media called it a Turanic Army). We share economic ties with each other. Countries have a very welcoming education policy against each other (substantial shcolarship and addmitence oppotunities). Cultural ties always strong. If every members does sacrifice in serious terms it would become a desired union (better than EU because of mutual heritage) instead of a cultural union.
