COLD START: INDIA TO DEPLOY MASSIVE TANK ARMY ALONG BORDER WITH PAKISTAN

Sputnik News

The Indian Army has not disclosed the exact number of airborne, handheld, manpacks and armored fighting vehicle SDRs that will replace combat net radios. With the state of the art SDRs, soldiers spread over larger areas can exchange voice messages, data and images in real time to enable commanders keep track of their soldiers' locations. This will be very crucial in the difficult terrains of the Himalayas.

The SDRs can also deter the threat of Chinese malware to the communication networks. A recent report prepared by the Indian Army design bureau has warned that imported communication equipment has heightened the threat from an embedded virus or malware.

The Indian Army bid document indicates that all the three services will migrate to the new communication systems very soon.

"SDRs will be intelligent communicators. They allow expanded communication range, flexibility in operating on a large number of frequencies and avoiding interference. They can also reduce power consumption and afford a high degree of security. Thus SDRs will completely revolutionize field communications," says Brigadier Rahul Bhonsle, a Delhi-based defense expert.

"Some of the Indian manufacturers like L&T and BEL have expressed the capability to deliver such systems. However, information about the actual stage of development and production is awaited," added Bhonsle.

As one of the 41 Ordnance Factories in the country, the EFA started out as an adjunct of the Heavy Vehicle Factory which produces battle tanks for the Indian Army. The plant became an independent engine factory in 1995 and has since produced 8,331 engine variants for army, the Heavy Vehicles Factory and the Ordnance Factory, Medak, Andhra Pradesh.

The three main variants of diesel engines are the V 46-6 for use in the Ajeya (T-72), V92S2 that powers Bhishma tanks and the UTD-20 for Sarath infantry combat-cum-armoured personnel carrier. The engine variants also have multi-fuel options.

“We hope to double capacity to 750 engines annually by 2014,” said Saurabh Kumar, EFA General Manager.

The 10 new regiments of T-90MS tanks, equipped with thermal imaging night sights to allow the tank commander to hit at enemy locations even during night battles, will strengthen army's fire power along the land border stretch with Pakistan-from Jammu in north till the western flank in Gujarat.

India has already inducted 18 regiments of T-90 tanks which are deployed in Rajasthan and Punjab against on the Pakistan front.

However, the Indian Army's 4000-strong tank fleet has been battling with night blindness in the past and these new tanks would help in doing away with that, the sources said.

India has about 850 T-90 tanks currently and plans to induct 1,657 by the year 2020.

The new tanks will supplement the existing battle groups in the Indian states of Rajasthan and Punjab.

shitty article first deploy the tanks then talk abt it. fucking losers write such articles.

They write such articles to reach a Modi Orgasm. Once its done, they return to their normal senses. Indians deployed entire army on our borders in 2001-2002 standoff, we reciprocated, without us firing a shot they lost 800 troops, such an inefficient malnourished force, they want to do it again, we will welcome it.

Actually our neighbors have deployed more troops compare to Indian Armed forces.

Exactly dude what you eat will decide the outcome of the war :lol: btw r u guys planning for a diet change ? as the beef eating Pakistan army still could take the whole Kashmir from Indian army :enjoy:

I more of a Pork lover

Sorry, Hindi is a second language to me. But I am sure Shaheen bitiya ko bhejoge toh hum burna nahi manege. :enjoy:

Its not the Shaheen or indian movies of drama , Its Pakistani Shaheen, you wont have a time to welcome it.

If you open your own front in Kashmir by your choice, IN navy will open it's own front near Karachi and create a blockade. And you may then go to China to ask for help by saying CPEC under threat. But China will not do anything and would rather blame you for escalating things and creating loss.

Please do open it near Karachi, because near Karachi Pakistan can rain hell on IN and IN knows that, due to that reason any future blockade attempt will be far from Pakistani waters.

Come on Basel you are a fine poster, jignoism and nationality aside you know PN is absolutely unmatched for IN. But then we know you guys won't shy from comparing PN to USN as well. Fact remains Karachi harbor burnt once to crisp, it will do so again if the situation demands so. And b4 you hit the keyboard in a mad rage that this in not 1971 this is 2017, well it is 2017 for IN as well. We may not have to work that hard as what we did back then to see the fireworks.

PN can effectively defend Pakistani Sea borders now, and IN knows that, that is why IN will play where they have advantage and that is near Yemen shipping lane from there and other open deep water sea routes are difficult to defend for PN now, due which PN is purchasing new equipment and goin on biggest transformation since it's creation.

Just now PN have added 280km range AShM/LACM to it's stealthy FACs, why??? It also operates Stealthy MRTPs which can carry harpoons and not easy to locate in dense shipping of Arabian Sea, also Coastal batteries can fire AShMs upto 280kms too while Sea Kings, MPAs can fire AShMs too. These are few things which along with other equipment can give IN a very bloody hell. I have not included upcoming weapon systems in it.

Cold Start is getting Hotter day by day... Quick reaction measures would make Pakistan to think twice before giving go ahead to non state actors to play their nukkad naatak in India...

@foxtrot1 listen to me... This kid has a watsapp msg from Xi himself explaining the real game. Don't bother him buddy or else he will block oil to mumbai for su30 from his mobile phone... He is very scary

this is not a joke.look at your defence analysts in our own country.they already fear that in case of naval war around karachi, your army will starve to death without any food, weapons, ammunition and most importantly oil.i don't care what indians think.you should look at what pakistan is doing around you.gwadar port is now functional and there are frequent visits of chinese nuclear submarines on both karachi and gwadar.you think of blockade as of a joke but ground reality is rapidly changing.you should look at the map of strait of hormuz and see where gwadar sits.if you ever dare naval blockade of karachi, pakistan will block all your resources directly from strait of hormuz.tell me from where else you get the oil?biggest exporters of oil are saudia iran and iraq.open your eyes and see the map.

we already have our own resources to get oil

And as I said PN alone cannot counter IN. You guys lack capability.

we lack capability? your type 209 exited our water quietly and we let it go.still your analysts lying in your country that it wasn't your submarine.this is very funny.

Due to CPEC now blockade of Pakistani ports also mean blockade of China, can India afford trying to blockade China and messing up with PLAN??

i am not including china in this calculus.i only assume that india and pakistan fight a war and they always come for blockade of karachi.it's indian dream but let me explain more things.first of all, they can't do it.even if they managed to do it,we do our own blockade from gwadar sea lane and stops all their resources right in the middle.what the hell they can do in that scenario? lol. if you include china, whose project is CPEC,than india even can't come closer to karachi.chinese navy is way better than indian navy from all aspects and indians are aware of it.

indians are like the same people who are still living in 90s and who aren't ready to see the developments outside their country.they say indian ocean indian backyard,i say MY FOOT! china already have massive fleet of submarines surrounding them from all directions.
