Next refusal should be to LM now for F 16

so they will go on isreal gan aesa?

what do you need refale you have your own plane

You can't compare Rafale to Tejas ..
Tejas is a toddler , Rafale is devolped after quite a lot of experience.
After AMCA , I wouldn't want to buy any thing outside. Probably sub systems .,

Swedish defense firm SAAB had offered to set up a production unit in India to collaborate with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the co-development of the Tejas MK1A fighter aircraft
New Delhi (Sputnik) — SAAB's desperate attempt to collaborate with Indian aeronautics firm in the co-development of India's indigenously manufactured fighter aircraft Tejas MK1A has failed to find support in the Indian government.

Manohar Parrikar, India's Minister of Defense, said, «There is no collaboration envisaged with any European Aircraft Manufacturer for development of the Tejas Mark 1A."

Indian Air Force Chief to Visit SAAB Production Facility in Sweden
Last month, SAAB's India head and chairman Jan Widerström said that the company was in talks with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) to develop the Tejas MK1A. SAAB offered to set up a production line in India under 'Make in India' scheme and to supply the latest Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar to HAL for Tejas MK1A.

However, the Indian government is not very keen to take this proposal forward as its own Defence Research Development Organisation is locally developing AESA at a cost of $67 million dollars. This project was approved by the government in January 2012 and is likely to be completed by May 2019, with a delay of 3 years.

The Tejas MK1A is a 4.5 generation aircraft which, the government says, will not lead to the development of indigenous fifth generation aircraft. Manohar Parrikar said in Parliament, "There is a separate program between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) from Indian side and M/s Rosboronexport from the Russian side for Design and Development (D&D) of the Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA)."

India formed its first Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) — Tejas squadron on 1st July, 2016 with two LCA Initial Operational Configuration (IOC) Series Production Aircraft. A further 18 IOC configured aircraft are planned for induction by 2018-19. This will be followed by 20 more aircraft in the Final Operation Configuration (FOC) standard, which are planned for induction from year 2019.

No no.
We will ask ADA and HAL to keep on inventing the wheel. Even if it takes 3.5 decades to develop a non combat ready aircraft with 65 percent veedeshi systems in a so called indigenous product.

nope bro why should we instead of refusing LM why should not we go a step further and make them share the profits and in the same time building the bridge over the tech void :azn:

LM bhee khush aur hum bhee khush

So as of no surprise FGFA is a go ahead with Russia.

MK1A - with Israeli radar.

May be just may be AMCA could see saabs involvement? If so it will put their entire gripin to a spin. India will have both 4.5 and 5th gen platform to offer a with lots of commonalities with spares and operational efficiency.

But wait. What about the timeline for all these three? Stop Gap purchase of either 80 f16 or 36 more rafale is a necessary. How are we going to address this issue? Strength depletion

The European are not so good to come and help you. They are just trying to scam more money out of India. Good that India government reject such plan from Sweden.

I can bet the so called made in India is just an assemble job proposed by swede who export import many critical component for the AESA radar. They are not stupid to really pass u most of the know-how.

Surprised to hear a logical argument from you in a Indian thread

Lavi is supported by US money. The project collapse immediately after US pull off the fund.

Kafir is basically a RE of mirage III, no development fee is involved.
What Israel has to worry about? When India will be investing? More cash for them. We are buying their radars and other electronic equipments second to non. May be not par with US technology. And we could invest in their program for fine tuned system as per our needs. To take out F16 and su30 j11s

in short india as always is trying to infuse best of all the yamrican, israeli & french and british systems in Tejas MK1A so to work out a perfect formula for AMCA besides going with russian PAKFA/FGFA for latest russian epertise in building stealthy airframes and controls which too gonna be used for AMCA ... in short AMCA will be a choon coon ka murabba/bhanumati ka kunba of all russian , yamrican , british french and israeli techs and a a smart slice of indian "jugar" ;)

bro the point is F16 with single engine will kill next version of tejas, and US can never be trusted in front line fighter aircraft which are need in numbers to replace MIG 27/Jaguars eventually

there is no next version of Tejas after MK1A and from day one since MP became the DM his only focus was/is AMCA and so called MK2 is just a ego issue with HAL/ADA which MOD just making as a test bed for AMCA & future LSA

as for F16Blk70/72 which USA have now offerred is much much better than what they offerred for original MRCA deal with all its systems streached to the limit of current leathel technologies avilable and will remain very very potent threat to its enemies for next two decades as it even with full combat load gives a decent combat radius 550-600Km even in lo-medium altitude (3-6Km)
