India needs to boost investment to reach China's growth rate: HSBC report

Once thing I think it's very crucial to India is inclusive growth.
Mind that life expectancy and infant mortality rate witnessed fastest achievement in China before 1980s.

Data coming out of China isnt something to be taken for sure. A country which has banned its people from open internet, doesnot hold elections, barred people from coming in large groups and banned free media, data can easily be manipulated. I have seen what was going on in Chinese media channels, when Modi travelled China, same news again and again in a loop.

lol
Words from an Indian, nothing can be more manipulated than Indian GDP and Indian IT callcenters power.
Ask Indians who have been to China then, mostly feel their superficial pride extremely hurt.

So, thats the only rhetoric you could come up with. Anyone who travelled Mainland and have seen chinese media will understand what I am saying. Dont Bullsheet me sir. After PANAMA leaks how easily government ignored the report we saw that, your citizens couldnt do jacksheet about it.

P.S : Do you know who else treat their citizens like that? Yea SAUDI ARABIA. Even they are rich, that doesn't mean they are a great nation.

Have some sympathy with Indians in India.
I'm just saying spending more effort in inclusive growth, unless u think which is not as important as beef discussion.

If UN can be manipulated that easily, how big a work is manipulating data? China invests tons of money in maintaining its image. Do you want me to give links about that?
Allow Media to travel to your remote towns freely, and then we will talk how great china is.

要不算了吧,我都开始同情印度人了,给人家留点面子吧。
Haha, I can understand their(some of them, not all) mentality totally.

I have a friend now in China from highest caste who is a relative of one minister in India, and he told me the same thing. He was totally frustrated by people around him when he was in India.

Growth with sustainability is the key here. I'm expecting 9% growth rate post GST acceptance and with DFC operationalization, another 1%. But the challenge would remain how we tackle inflation and manage deficit. Agriculture sector still needs massive investment and reforms. Continued reforms are a long road and hopefully we will have successive governments who walk it patiently.
RS vote will determine whether BJP can pass GST or not

Why are you posting till just 2012? 4 years have elapsed. Have you even bothered to look at what India's life expectancy and infant mortality is last year or so? A lot better than your "all weather friend" by a long shot.

India's infant mortality in 2015 was 38. About what China was in 1995. Its dropping in India now at the same rate China was seeing then.

Life expectancy is about 68 in 2015, which was where China was in 1986.

So the differences are more like 20 and 30 years.....not the 30 and 35 years as claimed by your graphic....and it is closing rapidly as India is still in social improvement phase but China approaches the declining returns phase.

And China was increasing its life expectancy quite slowly then already. India will probably go faster than that seeing how it was at 66 for just a couple years, 67 for about 3 years and is now at 68 and there is a massive sanitation push now which will gain I think about 5+ years relatively quickly.

Life expectancy also assumes that the mortality conditions stay fixed at the snapshot they are taken at....so it is only a measure. Most Indians born today will probably live a lot longer than the current snapshot since conditions are improving quite quickly.
