Indian Air Force Prepares 10-Year Modernization Plan

i was talking about F18 SH at 80m USD per plane compared to 250m for rafale.

Find out How much Australia paid for F 18

That too in 2007

They paid 4.6 Billion US dollars for 24 planes ( More than 190 million Per Plane)

@Bheemsen

F 18 TODAY will be at the same price as Rafale

But there is another problem working with USA

1 They want to you sign CISMOA before they give you High tech planes

2 They dont believe in Transfer of Technology

Rafale purchase is not just about Fighter planes

It will help Indian industry a LOT through offsets and ToT
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is about the Australian deal

On 3 May 2007, the Australian Government signed a A$2.9 billion contract to acquire 24 F/A-18Fs for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as an interim replacement for aging F-111s.

[93] The total cost with training and support over 10 years was expected to be A$6 billion (US$4.6 billion).[94]

Wow we r struggling to pay for 36 jets and you r pulling out numbers like 200 &300 from thin air

Struggling in the sense like what, we don't have money or we don't enough budget for IAF. pls elaborate.

Sir already parrikar said our capital expenditure for iaf next 10 years is $30 billion, we have allot fund for lca, pakfa, airdefence system within this ,

Ok....got it. What u said is right, so agree.
However those 200 or so he talks about is from IN and IAF. but yes some 120 to 150 could be on the cards.

But as of now stick to 36+18 for Rafale

You're talking like India doesn't spend to feed poor. It spends billions for poor man. :O:
Result, first poverty declined to 21.9%, 12.4% and now I'm hearing rumours of 9.8%(Confirmed 12.4%, but still to confirm 9.8%).
We have money for poor and we are spending it for poor.
But this thread is for talking if toys, you must GI on topic of poors ud want to talk about them.

I agree with you.

Instead of buying Rafale, India should invest in buying bags of rice and Roti.

We should also advocate drinking urine a.k.a moraji desai to tackle the drought and shortage of water.

Are you a Bengali ?

Its under our defence budget, which is mere 1.65% of GDP.i thinks its very less to protect 1.3billion indians, there sovereignty and integrity. Please check the % of GDP pakistan and china uses
Allocation for agricultures is huge is this budget i dont want to quote go yourself and find out.
Please dont mix 2 issues in one both are important and need to be address differently.

Could you name some lesser priced jets that can stand up to those employed by our adversaries?

Your statements can woo a gullible girl of SFI or CPIM party, but has no substance in any real discussion.

There are many alternatives for rafale , Su34,F18Sh,F16In,Mig35 etc which can fulfill requirement of IAF at much reduced cost.
