Since they are very quick to put bans on Youtube, Po^n Websites, Omegle and other website which they consider as either Fahash or Blasphemous.. Why can't they put a ban on UmerMediaTTP Website where Talib Scums put their daily propaganda there and the website is easily accessible from any normal Pakistani IP address (no need to use proxy for that)..

What do you make out of it?? Incompetence or unwillingness to ban Jihadi websites?? Or they're only there to put bans on Youtube etc.

Thoughts??

Also whats the use of ''Report TTP Pages'' thread being sticky for soo long when TTP's Official Website is operating uninterruptedly??

Omer media should be closed immediately. Why PTA is not blocking that website bloody hypocrites

Umar Media doesn't operate on a fixed channel like a TV station or a single website like Youtube. Several of their accounts are suspended in a day and they create several more to replace them.

That particular link is just a blog.

In case of blogs as well, they keep changing and they are constantly making new ones. Its a dynamic game of cat and mouse.

Exactly my point. An element of the counter strategy must be to present Pakistan's own viewpoints, ever more forcefully, to drown out the opposing side. The problem is that thus far the opposing side is being more convincing despite being clearly in the wrong. Blocking will remain a cat and mouse game, and it keeps them a step ahead.

Things tend to backfire a lot easily in Pakistan because people are absolute champs in "Whataboutism", even this December the ISPR released a song titled "Mujhe Dushman Kay Bachon Koh Parhana Hai (I have to pass the gift of education to my enemy's children)". It was a beautiful message, well in accordance with the occasion but the event and the song itself was hijacked by pseudo-intellectuals who brought everything from Malala, to Bajaur, to Syria and what not in a show of flawed causation.

Whataboutism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Dushman kay bachon koh toh parha liya magar Syria kay musalman bhaiyon tak aik rifle nahi pohancha sakay unkay bachon koh bachanay kayliye (You might have provided the gift of education to the enemy's children but you have not passed the Syrian Muslim brother a single rifle to save their children" was an actual complaint that I saw on the PDF Facebook page among a flurry of other such stupid comments.

Sir, ISPR is fighting a losing battle, to be fair. The real propaganda war is being waged from mosques and madrassas and all of sane and civil society in Pakistan (or the remaining vestiges of it) are caught like a flock of deer in the headlights of a loaded 18-wheeler with no brakes. The impact is inevitable.

I fully agree, the ISPR represents a party to the conflict and thus its efforts are only met with so much enthusiasm. The government has to take greater ownership of counter-terrorism operations and actively perpetuate this narrative on one hand while coming down hard against terrorist sympathizers in our own midst. Surprisingly, the Punjab Government has been doing that well in this year, they have carried out a few extrajudicial killings to curb SSP power in the province, a questionable practice but one that was necessary at this point. A number of prayer leaders were also booked for inciting hate. One could say that the nation is learning the ropes, I just hope we accomplish more quicker.

That is the core of the problem. What many others failed to achieve in decades past, despite trying, is what the radicals just might succeed in doing: creating a rift between the Army and the people. This genie that was let loose for jihad will not go back into the lamp anytime soon, or easily, if ever.
