Yes Qatar is seriously reconsidering the Rafale, but it will not go for the EF because of not only it's unreliability, but it's American components as well. This is where EF messed up very badly. IF One were to buy an a/c, why buy one with US components? Why NOT buy an American one?

the defect is only minor for the typhoon. there not much thats American. its mostly european.

your mentality is strange. if something has american parts and it does not work why get it when you can just get wholly American things. thats weird.

no i meant having an air superiority jet will change your air force tactics and will need to build new infrastructure on land plus uae is going to wait a lil bit if they need it as the SU-35 production line is very busy , anyway lets see what UAE will settle down for , i hope you will pick the best choice for your needs

Infrastructure on land is not an issue, keeping the Russian birds is. One also has to consider the after-sales support, and the Russians are no where near their western counterparts.

1) EF has American parts. Rafale comparatively has next to nothing. The American parts are NOT part of the EF's technical issues. The fact that in the event of hostilities, American parts can be denied is.

2) EF - Technical issues - all the way from cracks in the fuselage, to fuel tanks falling off. For an aircraft that has been in service for so long, this should not be happening. It's not like it achieved FOC last year.

I hope I have made myself clear, and that there are no doubts left.

in regards to american parts, i doubt the us will reject sale of equipment of equipment to the eu especially to the uk, its just fantasy.

Well you are right on the American parts to the EU , but the thing is there is a thing called "end user license" meaning IF today the US didn't want Pakistan to get the EF, they could simply refuse the parts or cancel the license, and the EU would be unable to export the aircraft. Same goes for parts after an aircraft has been delivered.
