A six-year-old British-Pakistani boy has become the youngest person in the world to become a Microsoft Office Specialist for PowerPoint.

This is the second feat for Humza Shahzad in two months. In May, the six-year-old from London’s East Croydon became the youngest person in the world to become a Microsoft Office Specialist for Office Word 2013.

Shahzad scored 850 points out of 1,000, scoring 150 points more than the required passing score of 700 for the Microsoft PowerPoint. He took the exam at the Microsoft Institute in London, according to local media reports.

The reports further claimed Humza received 90% in creating and managing presentations, 50% in inserting and formatting shapes and slides, 100% in applying transition and animations and 100% in managing multiple presentations.

The six-year-old got his first laptop when he was two and a half years old, and was taught how to use it by his parents.

Humza moved to England in 2011 when his father got a job as a Senior Development Manager at a multinational IT company in London. The family now lives permanently in East Croydon.

Shahzad joins Ayan Qureshi and Arfah Karim among a list of a Pakistanis who have attained Microsoft certifications at increasingly young ages. Last year, Pakistani-Briton Ayan Qureshi became the youngest every Microsoft Certified professional, accomplishing the feat at the age of five years, 11 months.

Further, Arfa Karim Karim in 2004, at only nine years old, became the youngest Microsoft Certified Professional. An extraordinarily gifted girl, Karim was selected as Pakistan’s representative at major international tech conventions and forums, and was invited to meet with Bill Gates.

there should be some minimum age on this man,, make us feel like dumbos, every month there is a "record youngest kiddo do do this or that"

On a serious note, awesome kid!! Congratulations to the young specialist! :)
If the future of mankind is in hand of such bright kids, i hope it will turn out to be good one.

What onEarth their Momas have been feeding these kids.....dont they have school to go to or they just around on Computer wondering which certification to take down next

i hate office

The future of 1-800-TEC-HSPT is bright, apparently. :D

Seriously, let kids be kids and let them study Maths and English first, and play second.

Somebody else feel that this sort of stuff is pretty pointless?

I mean....what the heck? Get the basics right first instead of rote learning MS Excel!

Oh well, to each his own.

Yes, such certifications at these tender ages are utterly pointless at best, and probably damaging to the child at worst.

And no, I am not saying this because I hate Pakistan. This holds true for all nations equally.

Yaara

if the kid wants to learn, let him
or you rather see him
selling dope and running with gangs?

I saw so many minority kids wasting away their time in so many big cities in the USA

I wish they had the heart of this kid and be something in their life even if this bad joke of yours about 1-800 tech suppport.

At age six?

I am a big fan of learning. And learning as early as possible.

How do you think my 6 year old nephews beat the heck out of me in every video game we play.

I'd rather they learn multiplication tables first rather than video games. :D

Certifying for MS PowerPoint at age 6? Still useless.

only if i had spent half of this much time on my computer at that age my mom would have killed me,, kam ni karty, umer ha tumharii, parha kroo, parho ga ni tu kya kro gay khotay charany haan.....
There is only one difference,,, i used to spend that time playing Doom 2 and IGI :P

I will say don't waste your time on MS products. Try some open source products.
