Why BD ? India already building ships for Vietnam in GRSE.


GRSE is manufacturer of Kamotra class, if you dont know. And going to build 3 P-17A. People these days.

It would be cheaper to build in Bangladesh then to buy from india, thats why were looking to buy frigates from korea and build corvettes in Bangladesh.

Give me a link, where it says Kamotra build quality is low. When you accept when they build 3 P-17A?

The main reason hulls are built at GRSE is the cheap labor. Empty hulls are then generally floated to Mumbai area yards for weapons fitment and integration. As far as I know weapons are not fitted at GRSE. Of course I could be wrong.

Nope, the weapon fitment and integration done in own shipyard where it building. How MDL accept the GRSE orders for weapon fitment, different PSUs? But one thing, weapon integration is not job of shipyard, its of DRDO. But that done in same shipyard.

In any case GRSE would be too expensive to buy from. Chinese terms and prices are far more reasonable. Plus GRSE is too busy supplying India's local defense and naval needs

Maybe Pipavav and L&T sitting ideal just right now, but L&T also going to build SSN hull and Pipavav for Next generation missile corvettes.

GRSE also proposed a Kamotra modified frigate to Philippines , but I dont think India going to get this tender.

As I said before, were not looking to buy ships (or any other weapon systems) from india. We already have good relations with China, and with their help and TOT were in the process of developing our own naval ship building industry.

Yeah, indias highly unlikely to get the order from the philippines. You'll have to get huge support from the government in financing the export because the Koreans have a very good relation and attractive package.

KSY is already building 648t LPCs, and are due to build Type 056 corvettes. So even then you haven't got a clue.

We dont need destroyers, the largest ship we need right now are covettes and frigates. As I said were already building or in the process of building everything upto corvette size. We will buy 2 frigates ($570m has been allocated/requested) most likely from either korea or china and then buold our own from 2020.

So no need for indian stuff.
