What's new

HIT's IFV?

Its a manned Turret, now we need soemething what @Oscar has stated.

Thats a self propelled AAG... aka SPAAG... check out what turks are rolling with:

And yeah its also manned..(as are all armoured vehicles-unless somebody wants a remote controlled one..)

Do you guys have any ifv at the moment in your arsenal?

I thought with Al khaled production experience you can also get Chinese help with turkish technology. Also using old hull with new installations is good idea. Pakistan should be capable to produce them at home as it's more of stop gap and support endeavour.

That terminator is frigging bad arse mofo.

Only if our top brass were little more interested in doing the job what they get paid for instead of dealing with property business.

Hamza IFVs and Muaz armed with ATGMs.

As for AK experience.. dude we have been building tanks since decades (although under licsense-with indigenous modifications etc)

@duhastmish

Also TOW and RBS variants equipped variants,BTRs,Al Fahads.... and now Dragoon IFV.

We are getting 800 odd VN-1 Snow Leopard IFVs under license production. We also need a tracked one as @Oscar pointed out.

HIT is in talks (so nothing confirmed about the VN-1s) what the army has been lookin since long has been SP Mortar systems...

How many frames do we have in service/storage?
Do we have the capability design and manufacture it at home?

The VT-4 is a little far off, and many of the Type-59s(and rumoured Type 69s as well) are going the Al-zarrar way, there are some older T-55s sitting around along with another stock of M-48s. The latter is probably in really bad shape so only the T-55s may be useful and some of the Type 69s may be siphoned off for the IFV conversion.

The issue perhaps may not be with capability, but rather budget and honesty of intent. Our R&D is a black hole of corruption and mismanagement. So I would not be too hopeful. The serbs are always willing to help and they might be very useful in this matter.

The tracked needs come into the boggy areas and those in the desert.. the M-113 will soldier on as our APC, but it cannot work out as a support vehicle the way an IFV can. The Al-Fahd IFVs shoved down our throat by our leadership in cahoots with the Saudis dont count.

The best option remains however the AIFV which the Turks can do, but we cant afford it.

They aren't useless, but they aren't needed either(whether they even left SA or .. just as the Mp5s were not needed as such with the wasteful local production(usual own pocket ploy by the man incharge of the decision)... at least not before the WoT(call it Allah ki Maslehat that we ended up in a war that has a lot of CQB where these finally were useful).
The Al-Fahds that we have come with new logistic headaches, the only question is whether they actually have the amphibious capability or not.. or whether they were actually delivered or not.
