MNREGA to Continue; It Is Living Example of Congress' Failure, Says PM

Ok now a question of common sense... If some plan of another guy has being a failure, would you continue with that plan or would you stop it?

Or maybe use the same scheme and get the results which it was intended to get but didnt happen at the first place.

.
Instead of digging ditches in the morning and filling them up in the evening , they should do something productive like planting trees.

It was utter,utter stupidity by Congress and tantamount to buying votes by throwing money at people for doing zero productive work.

.
MNREGA as a scheme is a successful one it has reduced migration provided basic employment,food security and social security but yes it is a failure of the govt policies which resulted no jobs /urbanization/industrialization, had it been provided this scheme would not have been needed.

Actually to understand what he meant one needs to apply his brain..however when one's mind is already full of hatred for someone one can't do jack about it...anyhow let me try here..

This scheme is a failure because even after 6 decades of independence we still need such a scheme to keep our humungous work force busy with unskilled work...the scheme needs to be continued because we are in bad shape and MNREGA with all it leakages is still acting as a support system for very poor....now was that such a hard thing that couldn't be cracked?? I mean i understand that people have political biases however such biases can't make us stupid..should they??

I would let it continue , and make changes to make it productive. I think Modi has the same plan

So nice to hear that from you, Now you form opinion on me and on what basis? If I have hatred then I have a reason and I support that with logic, if you can apply some please go ahead instead of getting into what I have in my mind...

Now you are attributing the failure of this scheme on the basis that it is still needed. Does that make any sense? I understand that you are trying to imply that its a shame that India still needs something like this even after 6 decades of independence. But how does that count up as a reason for the scheme's failure by itself.

the scheme needs to be continued because we are in bad shape and MNREGA with all it leakages is still acting as a support system for very poor....
So you are accepting that MNREGA with all its shortcomings did support the poor...

Aren't you being judgmental in haste or am I speaking to a Bhakt in disguise? This is not what I want to believe so I would give you the benefit of doubt....

Yup.

The funds have been misused and benefits didn't truly reach the masses.
There is a reason why Congress was kicked out...

@IndoCarib
So what's point continuing it? To show failure? So will he also continue all other Congressi failures just to show that they were failures...
The scheme was a symbol of failure of Congress to give nothing to the poor in 60 years of its rule. After 60 years the only thing they can get them to do is dig ditches for a few days.

This makes sense....

Found an interesting comment posted in a news article which goes in like this....

"Daddy daddy, Who is this Modi? What has he done? At my school everybody says Modi Modi". Father: "What ? You don't know Modi? He is our Prime Minister?" Daughter: "Ok daddy, but what has he done? Father: "Have u not heard? He gave a great speech at Madison Square, USA….he gave a mind blowing speech in Siachen….he gave a fantastic speech in Hyderabad … he gave a heart touching speech on Independence Day…" Daughter: "Hmmm what is he going to do in future daddy?" Father: "Wait for Republic Day my child, He will give one more fantastic speech!" Daughter: *Speechless"

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Fair enough...however being in discussions on few points and few threads does play its part in making perceptions about each other.

Look please don't confuse things...We need such a scheme is failure of the government who have ruled us for almost 6 decades...this is what i meant...which is evident from your explanation above...Now as far as the scheme goes then it has many shortcomings..leakages being the biggest issue...Is this scheme the best way of removing poverty, i have my doubts, however, India has already committed itself into this scheme......but then it is easy to scribble few lines on a blogging site then to face chronic poverty and hunger...so i will leave it to the government to draw the roadmap on how to remove poverty in parallel to this scheme...

So you are accepting that MNREGA with all its shortcomings did support the poor...

If supporting poor means - always keep them hand to mouth and a little less yet chronic poor..then YES it does support... "NO"...if you mean supporting poor is giving them a platform to raise above the poverty level so that they can take care of themselves and doesn't need any help from the state...

Aren't you being judgmental in haste or am I speaking to a Bhakt in disguise? This is not what I want to believe so I would give you the benefit of doubt....
Up to you...i have shared my thoughts...
