MNREGA to Continue; It Is Living Example of Congress' Failure, Says PM

Fair enough...however being in discussions on few points and few threads does play its part in making perceptions about each other.
I am convinced that you haven't gone through the entire conversation but a couple of posts mine and formed your opinion and you are free to do so...

Look please don't confuse things...We need such a scheme is failure of the government who have ruled us for almost 6 decades...this is what i meant...which is evident from your explanation above...Now as far as the scheme goes then it has many shortcomings..leakages being the biggest issue...Is this scheme the best way of removing poverty, i have my doubts, however, India has already committed itself into this scheme......but then it is easy to scribble few lines on a blogging site then to face chronic poverty and hunger...so i will leave it to the government to draw the roadmap on how to remove poverty in parallel to this scheme...
I think it's you who initially got confused. Please look at your previous statement...

This scheme is a failure because even after 6 decades of independence we still need such a scheme to keep our humungous work force busy with unskilled work...

To which I questioned you as to how you can attribute a scheme's failure just because it is still needed, But in your present post you did correct yourself by stating the bolded part....

If supporting poor means - always keep them hand to mouth and a little less yet chronic poor..then YES it does support... "NO"...if you mean supporting poor is giving them a platform to raise above the poverty level so that they can take care of themselves and doesn't need any help from the state...
Aren't we speaking if this has helped the poor or not, and I believe that it did help them atleast to partially satiate their hunger. The point was never about the elimination of poverty. This needs much more than a MNREGA....

:)...well i am not confused at all however i must admit that my quote above must have given you a different angle to what i wanted to say...i have clarified my point well enough in the previous quote so let's move on this one.

Yes...i agree..

That's exactly what i want to challenge...This mindset is killing us...Satiate their hunger is where we stop, no?? All these schemes are eating our resources like anything and to make matter worst end up in the pocket of non-deserving people..thereby leaving the poor still hungry and chronically poor...this is sinical in a country like India....

Unfortunately political party after political party is towing the same line..They talk about poor but not a single one has come up with any plans of eliminating poverty....BJP under Vajpayee also couldn't achieve a lot and was shown the door..Congress - the less we talk better it is...and now AAP has joined the bandwagon....I am all for pro-poor policies however when we will understand that unless and until we do something about Skill development and job creation at mass levels all our efforts will go down the drain...we are leaking resources and are not even able to help our poors..this is why whopping 60% + Indians needs MNREGA/Food security and what not...and then when someone wants to do anything about it we start politics on top of it...

Let me ask...what do you think current budget is pro-poor or pro-corporate..??

The problem I believe is the improper implementation of those schemes. If the goal is met, then we can move ahead and plan for next thing. But this has not happened because of the reasons you stated above. Don't you think you are judging AAP too early? I have great expectations from them so I would give them time to see effective results. I never looked into previous budgets so I can't say if its good or not compared to the previous one's but I do think the present budget is more of a mixed lot. Can't be termed pro-corporate or pro-poor, but increase of service tax was a dampener at least for me...

ummm these Goals will never be met...because if these goals are met then who is going to vote for these parties...This is an awesome tool of politics...give away tax payers money as if it belongs to their papa and in return get the votes and enjoy the power...Just look at our history and you will find how these morons have fukced us....anyhow hopefully present government under Modi will do something different...

Believe me i was a great fan of AAP...because this party promised a revolution in the way politics used to work in our country...in fact it is all because of AAP that such an enthusiasm is being seen around politics...however then they are also behaving like the same cult...their score card is still way better than rest of the lot however we also know that they are very young.....now only time will tell...though i desperately want to be proven wrong here...

For all of us...in fact no increase in exemption is another one for me...there are millions who are earning like anything yet not paying taxes...whereas whenever it comes to people like us they never have the fiscal space...
