What's new

Indian Variant of AK-47 Assault Rifle Developed - 50,000 Units Ordered in First Phase!

The picture is not only a gun in a game. If you scroll above, there is an Indian soldier holding the exact same gun in his hands.

There are several AKs used by forces all over India. Some have foldable stock with forehand grip, so what? You see that all over the world. They have just started to manufacture this rifle, the pictures people are posting are before this year, so it makes no sense.

That picture in the OP is a generic image. Originally it was for a video game. There are hundreds of the same above, some as far back as 2010.

There isnt any image of the ishapore 7.62×39mm yet.

I agree the pic may not represent the AK 47 variant that was developed. I was merely bringing up the fact that the gun in the game actually comes from a working model in use by India.

It's a generic looking tactical AK, it's practically every where an AK is around.

That cgi and people posting Indian forces with AKs are irrelevant.

Im sure it is. Turkey has been very lucky all these yrs. Not subject to sanctions, tech denials regimes, etc. Plus, your involvement with NATO gives you a lot of access!

Exactly.

Turkish Military is one of the largest western military machine out there with 500,000+ standing military, advance weapons, superior training, and impressive local, and increasing defense base...

So Sultan you are saying Turks are better equipped and better trained than Indian Army. They are superior in all aspect than Indian Army. Then why your A$$ is busting when ISIS in your door and you are calling on NATO for help :D:P. It shouldn't be same as Kargil when indian K!cked the Sh!t out of the Mujaheddin.:yay:

When ISIS size group enters your country you would know it

Superiority of design of one rifle, over the other :)

INSAS is a shitty rifle and no army will like to use it..and hence indian Army is phasing it out and looking for alternatives...

MPT-76 is a rifle of 21st century fit for modern militaries. Just like TAR-21 of Israeli Defense Forces or super-upgraded M-4s of U.S Army.

And why would I watch indian army's training and equipment?

Turkish Army soldiers' training, equipment, and experience is all but superior to indian Army's...

Yeah, if it was a video of Israeli Army's training or U.S Army training..then I'd love to watch...as it would give me some idea of where our forces stand.

No disrespect, but you can't compare your soldiers with soldiers of one of the most powerful Western Army. Our per capita spending on soldiers is much higher than yours.

Can you tell some details of this rifle?

Specs? Performance? Any videos preferably?

Looks tight!

The MPT-76 is classed as a battle rifle and is meant to replace the aging G-3. It is not an assault rifle like the INSAS, AKM, M4 etc. etc.

If you want to compare it with something, compare it with newer western battle rifles or designated marksman rifles such as the HK-417, SCAR-H, L129a1 etc.

We will F**K them, believe me. We have F***ed Indian Mujaheddin, LET and all terror group active from Pakistani soil. We shall eradicate them without any mercy. ISIS know that very well. Do not you know how they release our nurses. We are not like NATO forces who confine their assault to air bombing. We shall go all out behind them

ours may not be the best but we are bridging the gap with No 1. Very fast in some area and slowly in some others.

After firing several different types of rifles, I found that my preference is for rifles with clean flat top rail systems with rear mounted iron sights (I have Magpul MBUS's on my rig). The rear sight on the AK is near the front of the weapon, and isnt as useful as a sight that is closer to the butt stock (again, my opinion).

Its the same with the SKS. I am hoping to see a picture of this Indian AK clone. I wonder if the design team had the guts to really change up the rifle or if they just tinkered.

I agree .....I

I think you misunderstood me. Turkey has advanced andm ade it so far due to the fact, that it was able to build a cozy relationship with the West and be a part of NATO. Think about how country like India was able to build its industry from the ground up with no help? Whatever India has done, has been on its own merit for the most part.

I will say Turkey has great weapons due to the sharing of tech and knowledge being a part of NATO but as for superior training I am not convinced.
