Alternate solution for Pakistan Navy to counter Large Navies ?

It takes only a single bullet to neutralize or couple to kill a soldier. How many soldiers do India have? In terms of numbers Pakistan should have all of them covered. Whats the wait, take back Kashmir and than some!
ok

Been smoking too much weed, eh? The state of your PN today is that of a Coast Guard of a small country and you are hallucinating about it setting up blockades!

Remember when our IN set up the blockade in 1971, then again in 1999 during Op Talwar; some of your PN personnel found it expedient to go on medical leave rather than facing doom. Now the disparity is even bigger, you do not stand a chance.
So quit hallucinating........ :D

LOLL, you got taken in by the false-flagger. Satish please read up about the relative strengths of the two navies. Seems you are not very clear about that. :)

BTW, my dear Satish; Dharwad is not even a port!

I believe the core point is being missed here, Pakistan can stand a blockade -- India can't. Pakistan is a nuclear power that can block the gulf -- India can't. The mistake PN is making is to prepare to escort a caravan -- frigates and stuff: when it should be investing in catamarans and hydrofoils -- do something that it can and the airforce etc can't.

Oh reallllllly now; surely you are joking?
The PN will do alllll that with a bunch of old tired "buckets"? Thanks for being "pointless" now.
The only new ships are the Zulfiqar Corvettes from China, and they are not even any "wunder-schiffe" to block any Gulf anywhere. If they manage to defend to defend their own coast; thats about it.

So what "weed" are you smoking? ;)

Son cartoons are no alternative for geography, if you want to know what makes it so easy for Pakistan to put its foot on the gulf -- or what ever else you are challenging -- I recommend you join a school and get some education.

as for the "buckets" -- please read before responding. I said we DON'T need our navy to block the gulf!

no you don't get what he meant do you??? he is simply saying... PN is not capable to defend for long let alone blockade of supplies to India... India got enough reserves to sustain during the war.... whereas Pakistan is at dried out... and you can't threaten oil supplies from Iran ???? do you have that much capability? ??

sigh
I am saying PN does not need to defend anything -- our oil lines are safe enough -- by land. PN should detour and outrun: strike Indian shipping / coastal assets. oil from iran is going by underwater pipeline -- is the pipeline armored or something? what makes you question anyone's ability to take it out?
Just look at the map -- oil, pakistan, then india! now how on earth do you challenge pak ability to block your oil supply -- for the duration that you have your "reserves"?

PN capabilities are far below than you are expecting to do.. having one naval base you don't need o expect much safe heaven..

Invest in missile boats with long range missiles, dedicated AWACS with linked JF17 strike capability, long range air defense systems... no need for numbers of bulky frigates or cruisers..

what are detour and outrunning with? you have 4 F-22 Frigates, and a few old tired Type 21 frigates. The OHP are not capable of fighting anything larger than a pirate skiff. That's the point, your Navy is underclassed. It would not be able to sustain any type of oil blockade. And the Indian Navy would probably challenge ny attempt right away.

... and therefore PN should start investing in faster vessels -- get rid of these!! ... and we should go for HSR links with northern and western neighbors: an option Indians do not have!!!

In term of strategy , Pakistan should continue with modernization efforts and acquiring battle ready ships and submarines
as top priority , NAVY plays a great role and attention is due to this department.

It would be nice if Pakistan continued to expand on the fleet of fast attack ships in supplement role to frigates

Modest improvements are a good goal and Navy has improved by some degree in last 4-6 years , still long way to go but we are in alot better shape 10 years ago

Few more OHP frigates , and Submarines would add to the functional aspect of NAVY

it is also applicable the other way around, having one naval base we do not have nothing much else to be worried about and to divert our assets to defend it!
Furthermore, PN is establishing more bases for subs and combat surface fleets away from Karachi. We DO NOT HAVE A huge shore line to defend so no need of many bases. This is called intelligent thinking. You remember what happened to USSR when they tried a tit for tat with US?
PN needs to develop within its own resources keeping in view our own interests!

Entire problem of Pakistan is related to money.there is no denial of fact that Pakistan needs more Naval Assets to remain as a significant power in this region. You need better Frigates,New Submarines, more OPVs,Missile Boats,Support Ships and Maritime Aircrafts.Hell, even Iran is integrating platforms faster than Pakistan is.only problem is they're integrating smaller indigenous platforms.

it is pretty much a fact that it'd be hard for Pakistan Navy to sustain a war.they're underfunded and their newer platforms are being outclassed.their fund problem is forcing them to crunch their "Wish List" and it may remain so for few more years.I'm not suggesting PN to match ship for ship or missiles for missiles to its opponent i.e. Indian Navy.but they're on the verge of being insignificant.give Iran few more years and possibly even Pakistan would find to match their firepower.

about coastline,it is a fact that PN would've to defend a smaller coastline than some.but to lift a blockade or to strike opponent and fighting a defensive War,do Pakistan have that kind of resources??the only gloomy sector of the grim picture of Pakistan Navy is their Submarines.
