Strange selection process. Don't they have a succession plan in Pakistan? I thought seniority is the way to go in most of the Armies around the world.
It is always the prerogative of the PM/President.Whoever he is comfortable with will get the post. Bush had a retired guy recalled to be appointed. Our PM Hasina had her relative recalled from LPR to get the job.

Congratulations to new PA COAS.

What happens normally in Pakistan when senior Generals are superceded? Do they immediately resign or continue till retirement?
Apparently there is only one general superseded here i.e. General Haroon. One of the word that have come for his selection is that He devised the counter terrorism strategy of Pakistan army. However, I do have my reservations with CJCSC post being occupied by the army instead of offering it to other services when their turn is due.

Can someone post the seniority list? (before this appointment)
