Well swaping of partners is more prevelent then what many of us thinks. This is not speciafic to indian services but such practise exists in most of the armed forces across globe. Am saying this cause few years back while conversation with an serviceman this topic came..

I saw this news in the morning and was wondering how long it will take to reach PDF.... I had a fair idea who the OP going to be... but i was wrong in that guess....

I saw a news report (i dont have the link) which sounded like a domestic issue.... we never know till the probe is over.... but what ever said n done.... This is a very sad thing to happen if it is true....

Anyway, a similar allegation was made by a woman in the naval base at Kochi recently, and was found to be baseless upon investigation. So let us wait for further news on this one, before casting aspersions on the navy or its officers. (By "us", I mean Indians. For neighbours, it is a golden opportunity to vent their frustrations against India and its armed forces, and it would be unfair to deny them the pleasure. It would also be too much to ask them to wait for the investigation to be completed, for evidence to turn up or to assume innocent until proven guilty and so on. Why should they curb their glee for such sordid things like evidence or confirmation?)

If the complaint is found to be true, then what? How can anyone monitor what these officers do in their private time? Though I must say, of late the news coming out of India paint it like a morally decadent society.

As long as the wife swapping is done by personal consent, it is NOT a crime. Ofcourse you can abhor it or hate such a thing but the fact is,that is your subjective opinion only.

But if she was forced against her will then it is RAPE , plain and simple.

I cannot understand the sarcasm of some members here, considering the reality and ideal situations. People jumped at pointing fingers as if this is an isolated incident confined only to IN.

Once a donkey was grazing in the jungle, suddenly a Tiger appears.... indistinctly the Donkey closes it's eyes hoping the Tiger wouldn't see it either......moral of the story by being in denial.....the troubles don't just go away......here ends the lesson. !!

Umm...I did not mention you, did I? Why do you assume yourself to be the culprit? This is like going around a crowd asking "Excuse me, do I look like I just picked somebody's pocket?"

I don't know how correct the news is and what the truth might be, but all this is in bad taste irrespective of where it happens and with whom.
If it is a case of washing dirty linen in public, both partners should have been a little mature and if the version of woman is correct, the matter should not have come out in open. Its true there are idiots and morally degraded person in Indian armed forces as well but such sort of stories only become a source for entire establishment. besides it is quite unfair to paint entire institution in same color.
