Its all a conspiracy theory according to some folks until it slams right into your backyard... People have been saying this for a last couple of years(mostly conspiracy theorists) and they were outright dismissed. Follow the story of Monsanto/Halliburton for more details..

Psst. Monsanto is responsible for 90% of farmer suicides in India...

Best defense against something, you cannot explain is to label it as a "conspiracy" theory.

Corporate, stranglehold over world economy is hardly a conspiracy theory.

The first bit didn't make sense.

He said that "We arrange big loans from the World Bank to countries that have oil, but the money goes to our own companies who build infrastructure in that country. Then eventually the country ends up in huge debt and we force them to sell their oil to us at cheap prices."

But how do you get from "building infrastructure in the country" to -> suddenly the country is in "huge debt"? The whole point of building infrastructure is to make your country more productive and competitive, so either the infrastructure was done wrong or something else went wrong to cause the huge debt.

Infrastructure is the best investment for developing countries. Not just physical infrastructure like roads/electricity/communication, but more importantly things like social infrastructure (education systems, etc), government infrastructure (legal systems, etc) and economic infrastructure (financial systems, etc).

Worse part is very few people believe in it...and not to mention very few people are even willing to understand the problem.Monsanto continues to rape and monopolise the Indian cotton industry, left right and centre .

Loans provided by world back to companies usually in the condition that , the loans will be used to build infrastructure. The infrastructure is built by these US companies using the loans by the world bank according to the agreement of thee loan.. So yeh.. The money does go to the US industries and the country goes into debt..

One problem with this theory is that after the US led invasion of Iraq the big oil contracts went to China not to the US however I do agree in part with this just read up about the british american tobacco company and why cannabis was outlawed.

Maybe because, you don't know.

Western oil firms remain as US exits Iraq - Features - Al Jazeera English

Over 1,000 documents were obtained under Freedom of Information over five years by the oil campaigner Greg Muttitt. They reveal that at least five meetings were held between civil servants, ministers and BP and Shell in late 2002.

Meetings were held but is that so unusual? and these documents that were obtained what do they contain? will the public ever know is the question? if they were released I would like to see what it said in these documents.

Lady Symons agreed to lobby the Bush administration on BP's behalf because the oil giant feared it was being "locked out" of deals that Washington was quietly striking with US, French and Russian governments and their energy firms.

This is standard business practise all Governments lobby to win key contracts in defence or oil it is the job of the trade secretary to help support British firms investing overseas.

What is intresting though is why Iraq cancelled a multi billion dollar defence contract with Russia in recent months from watching RT the Russians feel American pressure played a part.

With Nawaz Sharif selling everything Pakistan owns he can get his hand on, I think this is what's going on in Pakistan.
