I really do pity people like you , When Army takes Action you say they are abusing their power , the are dictators , & when they dont take action you say they dont care for the country only for themselves , There is just no pleasing people like you .

The Job of the Army is the protect the National Borders & make sure we dont become the Next Afg , Iraq , Syria , Palestine , and they are doing a pretty damn good job regarding that.

People who can only talk & make Dream Castles while sitting in their comfortable chair , who dont even know the 10% history of Pakistan & yet know the Name of every Movie , Film star , who only get shot while playing video games & dont have nerves to stand up against the strong , Dont have any right to question those who stay awake at night so you can sleep , who take the first bullet fired at you & yet there is no pleasing people like you.

Army is not an institution to take action or give such statement. By all means of job description, Kayani is bypassing his authority with such statements. The order of operation has to come from civil government, and Kayani has an employee of state has to fulfill the orders.

Kiyani isn't just wanting people to take responsibility for no reason. The mess in Sindh was created by the political parties on regional gang basis, sort of you close your eyes and I will make a gang militia in this 30 mile radius and you do that on the other 30 miles and we both make money through drugs, ransom, political assassinations, etc, etc, and to remain in power by forcefully controlling the vote bank.
So when political parties are involved in creating such a big militant network, he doesn't want the army to take the bait and walk into a political firestorm. If he just did that, then the political parties who'll lose their gang members, killers, terrorists....will bash the army. I think the army has gotten smarter so they want the political leadership to decide, announce the gov't's will and pave the way. Without political support, it'll be destructive for the already-falling reputation of the PA.
Similarly, if the SWAT and some of the FATA areas didn't have the political backing, the army would never have been able to clear that area and have goodwill left. They are trying to do the same in NW as well. First run an information campaign, create political and otherwise sympathizers and then do the operation. Otherwise ops like these will result in more terrorist being born than the dead.

The Army and the civilian gov't need to reach some sort of accommodation. I'm pretty sure I know what the parties will agree to that will work, but I'm leery of helping the process further. In this matter it's best that Pakistanis discover and craft their own solution without foreign intermediaries or analysts they could blame. Otherwise guys like Pakistanisage will have a field day, crowing that everyone in the Pakistani gov't is a Zionist, right?

It is best that Pakistan sorts itself out, and at one time I would have said that there was a reasonable chance of it doing so. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that those in control are slowly losing the plot and their grip. The signs are present already and further deterioration is almost inevitable.

At best, a low grade civil war with a few hundred thousand casualties, and at worst, a few million dead, are the the probable "accommodations" that will come to pass.
